John, I just wanted to thank you for all the great content. As a mediocre 51 year old runner I did my first 50 mile ultra yesterday. Your advice and encouragement went a long way in helping me get through it. I know when you put these videos out there it is hard to know if you have an impact, but I can assure you that they do have an impact. Good luck at your upcoming 100 miler.

I'm 46 and trying to get back into running again. I think my biggest hurdle is to not compare myself to my old self. When I was in my early 30s I would run 40 miles a week and run races like a mad man. A couple of kids later and a bunch of extra pounds I am embarrassed of myself and how I let myself go. I used to love running and I want that back again. It was a great way of meditation for me. I will get it back. It may never be the same but it will be fun again ! I am glad I found your YT page and subscribed.

I missed this one!! Great advice as always! I know for me, I've always struggled with controlling what I eat. It's easier for me to control my exercise than my diet. I've found that once I've settled into the groove of exercise, I just naturally start to make better choices. When I get hungry, I might choose a fruit smoothy over a candy bar, because I had such a nice run I don't want to "ruin" it. But that takes a month or so to kick in, and I might gain a few pounds in the meantime... but it's so worth it for the outcome later!
