This is my favorite song in the entire show. Aaron is portrayed as a kind of antagonist throughout the play but this song really peels back the layers and shows that he’s just a person doing what he thinks is right to do. Hard lessons he was taught during his life have made him overly cautious and he’s actually jealous of Hamiltons ability to throw caution to the wind. Great song

I had a brother who i was insanely jealous of because although he never cared about anyone and floated through life not having to do or figure out anything he just always received my mother love to the highest regard. Me on the other hand had to fight for scraps of my mother love. Being her caretaker, going school, making all the right moves, never making a decision without figuring out how it would effect her. and she never loved me or thought of me in the same regard as him. Ever move i made have been a strategy. This song just hits different for me. I just cant even tell you ho much.
