In Germany there's the term "Pudding Vegetarian" for people who don't eat meat for ethical reasons but still eat hyper processed food. Now that veganism is becoming more prominent I guess we'll have to consider the Pudding Vegans as well ^^

Very true. And I eat waaay more veggies and potatoes with adding good amounts of simple olive oil or flaxseed oil or rapsseed oil and some herb sea salt. If I wouldn't do that I'd crave way more restaurant food, cake and candy - the body will make sure I get the same needed calories and fats just from unhealthier and more expensive sources.

vegans get fat the same way anyone else does, through sustained caloric surplus. & so many vegan substitutes are oil based, he’s not far off at all

I don't understand why he's ok with white flour but not with a good quality, cold pressed, organic oil. In his WIEIAD video he made pizza with white flour but without any oil. He could've at least made it half whole grain, half white flour. I don't understand vegans who eat white pasta especially, tastes worse than whole grain pasta and is as void of nutrients as of taste.

I think some people are likely to weigh more on a high saturated fat diet, but the reason might be because that diet is made of cookies, donuts and all sorts of dishes containing lots of butter and hence lots of calories. The main reason is still the culture and lack of balanced meals and high volume food. I immediately noticed the difference in portion size between Europe and US, the latter are always super sized.

I've been a junk food vegan for ten years and am the thinnest person in my family (barely 100 lbs). I eat plenty of oil lmao

If you eat packaged vegan foods that contain oil, you’ll gain wait but if you eat the non-vegan version, you’ll also gain wait. Someone on a WFPB diet who incorporates oil into their food will be fine. That’s what she’s saying here. It’s not hard to understand.

Besides that, real olive oil would be pretty pricey to gurgle down like that. I wish I was so bougie. I love the taste of olive oil. It's in my Mediterranean genes.
Most olive oil you get at the store is kind of been diluted with vegetable oils.

I'm fat cause my lungs don't work well and I've been on corticosteroids for 6 years and it's really hard to eat like 1500kcal forever to maintain your weight 😅 especially when your body is hungry allll the time

Whenever someone comments about maybe not eating a bunch of ultra processed junk food all the time, you get people all offended crying about how people are allowed to eat what they crave 😂

Like ok eat what you want but don't be surprised that you're obese, unhealthy, and in pain at age 34

I was vegan for 2 years, whole foods, plant based and got real fat (+30 pounds) because I never felt full and was grazing all day. Let's acknowledge that even whole carb can generate constant sense of hunger and lack of satisfaction.

As a fat vegan, I can say oil contributes…but not as much as French fries and vegan ice cream.

My piece of advice: try to eat more whole foods and avoid the ultra-processed crap. There's a lot of vegan junk food in the supermarket nowadays. Don't just eat something because it's vegan, eat something because it's vegan AND healthy.

I gained weight as a vegan because I couldn't get enough protein for what I was doing in a day, and I was eating more bread. I'm good at eating vegetables and fruit, but I really suck at eating beans that haven't been cooked with ham hawks or other small amounts of meat. The only exception i can think of was with the vegitarian bush baked beans. The beans upset my stomach when i cooked them plant based. The loss of cheese and eggs hit me pretty hard, too, because that's what I mostly eat. All the extra fiber from the beans probably had me bloated, too.

Tbh i really don’t have source for this, but i heard long time ago, carb alone or oil alone really doesn’t produce much calories, but if you consume together it kinda creates kinda synergy produce more calories? I guess physically can’t produce more calories then it exist, but rather more efficiently absorbed. Anyway, yeah i see carb being the problem more of obesity than oil, since it is extremely hard to consume oil excessive amount of it.
