Lithgow was phenomenal as the trinity killer. He plays a fantastic villain

If he’d knew about Rita… trinity would’ve not just got a hammer to the face

Even the trinity killer one of the most brutal and sadistic killers in this universe was completely disgusted by Dexters acceptance of what he is. Legit one of the best if not the best episode of the series.

I just started watching this show recently, and just got done watching this episode. I don’t think a show has ever made me care for characters so much. I was expecting a happy ending kill on trinity to end the season. When I heard Rita’s phone ring, my heart dropped to my balls. I don’t think I’ve ever been so heartbroken from a moment in a tv show as this one, I genuinely didn’t see her death coming. I still can’t get over it. She was such a sweet woman, literally no one else dexter could make it work with. She was the one.

It's looped like Trinity is in a never ending nightmare

If he knew what he did to Rita I’m pretty sure Dexter would’ve gone full Law-Abiding-Citizen on him.

I remember when this season finale premiered. They had an interview with Lithgow and Michael C Hall with their reactions to the episode. Lithgow was mortified. He didn't have anything to do with the bathroom scene, so he didn't even know they were killing her off.

Already over because he already murdered Rita

“It’s already over” is what he first says to the bathtub girl we first see him kill in the season

Wow, he handed that man a hammer and even showed him how to use it to pull up nails, this seems like a very wholesome show! Definitely going to let my kid watch this good looking family friendly show.

This edit really encapsulates the felling of the show, the sadness, the loss it is a work of art truly
Dexter still not knowing that rita is dead, such a shock to the core of the viewer

This is a prelude to Dexter's end.

God I remember watching this the first time and absolutely despising this man for killing Rita. I loved Rita man she was such a good partner for dexter

I love how many ways Arthur’s words can be interpreted here… though the one thing I hear the most is that he was making one last jab or final F U at Dex but I don’t think that’s the case. Maybe before he was on his table, sure—but once he realized “who Dex really is” he’s actually disgusted and given how Arthur treats his own wife, it’s not a stretch to assume a dead wife would just be an inconvenience for Dex. It leaves quite a bit open for interpretation.

Love how this was foreshadowing for the Dexter new blood show “Fake my death and start all over again?” “No, you’ll still be you”

Every great protagonist needs the ultimate antagonist. Arthur Mitchell, was the ultimate nemesis to Dexter. Their story was the most creative and thrilling the entire show

No other human being could've played Dexter Morgan the way Michael played it. This guy absolutely annihilated this role.
