TIG Welding a 16” Stainless Steel Pipe Backfeeding and Walking the Cup Root Pass #shorts

Trick is to not let the pipe gap close up on ya. I had a alloy 20, same size, completely close the 5/32 root gap. The root opening slammed closed around two 1 3/4 inch wedges.

Back feeding is stupid.
Hold the flier just inside the root, and that’s where it will go.

308l is a common stainless wire even tho 304 l stainless cost is very much higher. Soooo.... when's the cutoff for aircraft, aerospace welding as far as filler wire on stainless is concerned.
