For what it's worth. As I understand it, in the lore, the dragon claw puzzles aren't meant to be a clever puzzle to keep people locked out. It's meant to keep any draugr who might have happened to have picked up the claw key from getting through the door. Mindless undead creatures aren't especially good at solving puzzles, after all.

In case anybody wants to try this run, Bretons start with the Summon Familiar spell, meaning you wouldn't be completely defenseless at the start. Plus their natural magic resistance is really useful.

"And then Alduin just stood there so I ran up and punched him. I guess that was a bug"

Nope. That's how the fight ends - Alduin sits there until you directly damage him.

Regarding the greybeards: it's not so much they have a vow of silence, it's just they can't speak without tearing people apart. Argneir is the youngest of the crew so he can still speak normally. That's also why he immediately obeys Einarth when he tells him to stop being a gonk.

The "Where is Willow" has to be the best intermission / time killer I have ever seen someone do, I think it well worth your time. 👍

Todd howard: it just works

Edit; btw, alduin staring at you at the end isnt a glitch, he stays at one hp until you hit him as hes coded to only die by your hands

By the by: the fire trap plates are colored differently for "safe" plates and "trapped" ones. If you look at them they have a diamond symbol in the middle with the little fire nozzle in the center of the diamond. The lighter colored ones are safe, and the darker diamonds are trapped. Hopefully that helps you at some point in the future

As someone who's been Skyrim for a little less than a year, seeing everything you were doing within the beginning from not picking the Breton to get the Conjure Familiar spell as a set spell, actually walking with Raloff and Hadvar and standing there when they cross paths to selling everything from Helgen Keep, even the Mage Hood that would've gave you the MP you needed to use the Summon Flame Atronach spell, I couldn't help but feel a hint of superiority.

I've invested too much time into that game. And I found Willow only two times in the first round. Two in the second round.

My favorite theory regarding the claw keys is that those doors aren't meant to lock people out, they're meant to lock the powerful undead *inside*

i am so in love that you actually put in the mod "insects be gone" i have huge arachnophobia too and even kind of stopped playing few games because i couldn't get over this fear

The flaming familiar spell might have been great for this run. It summons a familiar except the familiar explodes when it first attacks an enemy. Basically, it's a fire ball spell for the conjuration school. It doesn't sound like a vanilla spell but it's been in the base game since launch.

Ooh, I saw your teasers for this. I'm super psyched to see you do this challenge run.

Surprised you didn't go for a Breton character instead. They start with conjure familiar spell and their magic resistance is almost op

The Wheres willow segment of the videos were such a unique way to spice things up!

I guess there's always the classic challenge of an entirely illusion and/or never killing anyone run.

It's been done before, but it could be fun.

Oh, I've never beaten Skyrim either. I always kinda get bored before I finish the main quest line. Then I wander off and do sidequests or start a new playthrough or whatever.

A bit late to be relevant but you actually could’ve started with a conjuration spell by starting as a Breton. They always start with the conjure familiar spell, which could’ve made the beginning a bit faster

The different races all have different attributes, both with survival off and extra ones with it on, like some having different spells, powers, passive abilities, and survival skills like how Argonians and Khajiit are resistant to eating raw food while other races can get sick from it

Did you know that in Bleak Falls Barrow, there are actually 3 chests in the Overlord room? One on the right side of the word wall up some rocks, one near the Overlord, and one to the left, beyond the waterfall. They're both leveled chests I think, so they might not have *the best* loot and rewards, but it's still more stuff!

I tend to go with Hadvar, no matter which side I take in the civil war.
For a very simple reason: Joining him and following him to Riverwood means you'll be a friend with the blacksmith and that in turn means you can take stuff from his house. Including respawning iron and steel ingots at the forge.
