Archaeologists in #Ireland have uncovered a 5,500-year-old #megalithic passage tomb, which has been dubbed the “find of a lifetime”.

Archaeological research carried out by Agri-technology company Devenish and University College Dublin (UCD) School of Archaeology unearthed the “significant” discovery in County Meath at #Dowth Hall in the heart of the Bru na Boinne – the Boyne Valley Tombs World Heritage Site. Although smaller than #Newgrange, the new find may in fact be more important and more ancient!

Dia duit (Hello) in Irish
I live in County Meath quite near to newgrange, tara and a bit further away is loughcrew. All these ancient sites which we have dotted all around us had been built for and by the Tuath Dé Danann so the stories inform us. We aren't told alot about ancient celtic myths and ways in school as it appears it was suppressed and somewhat forgotten due to 800 years of occupation. What's crazy is I have structures outside my door older than the pyramids yet in reality the greater population knows very little about these wonderful places.

Im from Ireland myself i was a builder/road worker, when i was younger we dug up a road to install cables, we found bones and other artifacts in waterford city, only to be told to leave it as it would hold up work, only now i see what we done was wrong, imagine what was covered up by the rest of the country, Imagine what was stupidly hidden for years, because theres no money in our past!

I'm actively recruiting viewers, honestly it's impossible to have a good drunken fight about ancient history unless someone else has the same info. Really like your content. Be bold, mainstream is always conservative, we need new theories, new eyes on old questions, broader context. So get weird brother.

Did they find the remains of an honest Irish politician? That would be rare indeed.

What happened between the time of that superb, precise stone carving of megaliths in Egypt versus this rougher hewn (2:42)? Did we get a downgrade in capability?

Nice find. Thanks for the update Matt.

Sidhes appearing eveywhere! They were round barrow fortresses belonging to the Aes Sidhe, the prime magicians/sorcerers of Ireland. The most remarkable ones being Brugh-na-Boyne (New Grange). Knowth and Dowth. Congratulations! Great upload.

Peace 😀
