No they don't, i personally like newjeans, sure they have trendy vibe but illit has own style, when I first heard it in shorts and reels, it felt refreshing and sweet, summer vibes it was nice, just cuz you know only one group doesn't mean every song is made by them☺️❤️

yeah, when I listened to magnetic for the first time I thought it sounds exactly like a song newjeans would do, but it’s not the groups fault, it’s just following the trends and what’s popular at the moment

I love girly K-pop it will always be what got me into K-pop and my number one serotonin booster on a bad day so I will always be grateful for the gift of music I enjoy and that makes my days better! Regardless of who’s singing. Music has been around for ages and ask any composer they will tell you it’s nearly impossible to make a melody that hasn’t been made before 😂

i don't know what people are hearing they are completly different genres... newjeans is based in clubland uk garage sound ..its what makes them sound cool while still being fun... illit sound more like 2nd gen kpop and way more bubblegummy.. you wouldnt hear illit being played in a club lol

Imo they sound nothing alike other than how airy and cursive their voices are. New jeans have always served this youthful and y2k concept with fun song's but ILLIT is definitely more dreamy and remind me something of 2nd gen or even Jpop also their concept is clearly inspired by Japanese lolita fashion. ILLIT also have a webtoon and storyline and other than a power puff girls collab I don't see newjeans having a story line

It's so great and no surprise at all since they're both under HYBE label. UNIS and MEI are other groups with authentic NWJNS alike style and this says a lot about audience marketing studies being carried out by avantgarde Kpop Music Labels.
