SSDs, by their very nature, are "lightweight" ... It's HDDs that are heavy!

EDIT: My top quality Samsung also feels "light as a feather, like there's nothing there!" 🤣

SSDs often run hot; so you really can't complain about it, unless it's outside of the specifications!

If the SSD runs slow, it's more likely to be the (possibly old?) host computer!

I have a cheap 240 GB Goldenfir SATA SSD. It feels lightweight. The temperature sensor reports a flat 40c (so the sensor is faulty). Internally, it's fine (no hot glued SD Card). And, for 4 years, it's worked fine! It's not slow! Not the best SSD in the World, but it works just fine!

IMPORTANT: You should always leave at least 10% of the disk space UNALLOCATED Additionally, larger SSDs have greater longevity than smaller SSDs, so buy the biggest drive you can afford!

My few cents

The temperature sensors are berserk on this model. I used it for 2 days and I can assure you that the moment Temps hit 60+ this thing throttles like crazy.

I was getting 60-70MBps write speed when the drive ran hot while Read remained at 500+ but during a cold boot when temps were around 55-57, it would perform same as yours with Write speed at 430+.


So people, please check your drive for faulty temp sensor.

Ultimately I exchanged it for a WD Green and now everything is fine. No heat no throttling. And WD costs the same in India and has a much better build.
