Before I got married, I dated several Danish girls. I think the stereotype for Scandinavian women is blonde, independent, cool, and very reserved. But the Danish girls weren't like that. Independent, yes, but they were very fun loving and loved to laugh. None of them were heavy drinkers or blondes. They were very open to dating foreign men. A difference always is a bit exotic and that's attractive.

I had a Danish neighbor named Seth while in Cambridge, MA in 2012 who played the piano beautifully. Quite a memorable experience for me even though it was short one. Very kind person! I'm not sure if all Danish people are very easy to like? The day I moved in next to him, he invited me into his apartment and made me a meal and then showed me around the area including where to find the laundry room, and public library. I still wish until this day that we would end up as partners but I didn't have the chance to learn more about him.

Apart from music, my contact with Scandinavian cultures was accidental, pushed by an interest in tonal languages. Thinking about Chinese, I came across the question of which indo-european languages could also be very tone-centric, not just phonetically rich. That's when Swedish and it's hypnotic musicality showed up. But even if I'm more into Swedish and Danish is much trickier in stuff like catching up with the sound or numbers, I find the character of the Danes more appealing to socialize with. So be it for the dating thing or in general, having a natural drive for using the sarcastic side of communication and a cool sense of humor as a cultural trait is an absolute YES for me, precisely as a tool against a tendency to be shy. It all softens that language intimidation. Although a blend with the trait of being quite a heavy drinking culture maybe fucks this up a bit for a Colombian-Spaniard who doesn't drink at all 🤣 Thanks for your content!

As a guy who grew up in Denmark with a different background (non-danish); The thing most women in the western culture lack is femininity. It’s all so Americanized. Hollywood and reality tv has left us with a Kardashian and woke culture that’s thick and difficult to love. Too easy to get sex, too difficult to find true loyalty. But that’s my view.

I'm a Swedish guy. I honestly struggle to be interested in the *average* Swedish girl, for me there are of course plenty of Swedes I like, but tbh women from Poland, Czech republic, balkans, italy, etc... much more interesting. I have a feeling this will lead to a life of... difficult choices culturally and such, but honestly I vibe with who I vibe with, ain't nothing I can do about that.
