The PlayStation Vita (PS Vita, or Vita) is a handheld game console developed and marketed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was first released in Japan on December 17, 2011, and in North America, Europe, and other international territories beginning on February 22, 2012. The console is the successor to the PlayStation Portable, and a part of the PlayStation brand of gaming devices; as part of the eighth generation of video game consoles, it primarily competed with the Nintendo 3DS.

My old 3ds went from rotting in a junk drawer to something I keep with me more frequently than my phone. The endless supply of pirated games and personalization options have made it a favorite of my video game devices, even over my Nintendo switch

In Spanish we say "Liberate" insted of "Modding", cause that's what it does, opens you a huge door of possibilities

Just modded my Vita slim a few days ago, extremely easy to do. PKGj and a good homebrew browser 🤝 Only got my vita for $100 from a pawn shop too in real good condition

English patches for japan-only games are AMAZING. I've had my vita 1000 since 2014 and only modded it about a month ago. In the past month I've already played more games on it than in the past 9 years. 256GB main storage, 16GB sony card for adrenaline. I dont think I'll run out of storage anytime soon.

I finally gave in and modded mine a couple of weeks ago. I have 19 gigs available on my 256 gb SD card. I really wish I would've done this sooner, It's amazing. It's my first time modding a system and It was fairly easier than I thought it would be.

To be honest i got ps vita as soon as i heard that people got monster hunter frontier servers up
And modding vita was a easier than i thought
Overall modding it is worth it and what you get in return is probably x10 more than you'd pay for ps vita thees days

I loved mine. It sucked that Sony didn’t do more with it. I would buy a new PlayStation handheld if they ever came out with one

Modding my 3DS changed my life tbh, my family wasn't really.... Well-Off, more like scraping by, but, Since I homebrewed my 3DS, I'm able to download and play all the games I wanted to without paying a single cent and I'm happy.

How can you not mod it! Your def doing yourself a huge Injustice if you have one and you love it and you don't mod it!

I got a vita about a month ago for 65 dollars, it was used only a few times since 2015 and it hasnt been charged or touched since, everything about it is in mint condition and it looks and feels great, definitely an underrated portable

The one thing the vita (and 3ds) beat phones with is that there are no ads and the games were actually made with care.

I got 1 tb on my vita which is way to much I say it's always worth modding it.

Something that people don't often mention when it comes to Vita modding is it's capability of handling other consoles, it doesn't always do them the greatest justice, stuff like NES, GBA, a lot of stuff before and around that are fine, but there's certain problems with SNES, pretty much anything NON PlayStation you're looking at some level of less than ideal emulation, a lot of said emulation can be handled by BRAND NEW devices around the same price range as a used Vita or even cheaper, and are handled better, depending on the device, may even be able to handle more than that too.

The Vita is phenomenal for Vita, PSP, and PS1, a lot of the homebrew ports and mods are also great, but if you're looking for a device that does anything other than any of that a Vita isn't that ideal option unless all you have is a Vita and/or you're not gonna be too bummed about some emulation flaws.

ps vita 3000 is where it's at and the device was so ahead of it time and still a beast today in portable gaming i honestly prefer it over my Nintendo Switch because i pick up my vita more than my switch because of how much they packed into the little console making it a marvel in engineering

i found my vita in the trash, oled 3g v1. With 1 game. And charger.

I never even knew what a vita was, but 6 years later i just upgraded the sd card from 32 to 128. I never play games on it just install and tinker. I want to upgrade the battery soon because this one finally has issues. And plugins to usb connect to androidtv.

I missed out on the ps vita but did get to play it at launch. All the games on wanted were too expensive so I just bought a Japanese model already modded with games. I would only get a USA model un modded if I still want to connect it to PlayStation at work and PlayStation systems for remote play. Unless there’s still a way to do it otherwise.👀🤷‍♂️ happy hunting
