I bought Pike and Shot in 2016, thought is was clunky, sat on it for 8 years, and now I've been playing it constantly for the last month. To anyone who likes Pike and Shot, I also highly recommend Sengoku Jidai: Shadow of the Shogun, taking place in Sengoku Jidai, the Imjin War, and the Qing conquest of the Ming. Those latter two are super super underrepresented in gaming. It's plays with similar rules as Pike and Shot, but the differences in units are really interesting.

Thrones of Brittannia gets crapped on alot by total war people but its battles are some of my fav in the series, big fan of the Welsh factions myself

I love the Ultimate General series. I just finished a game of UG Gettysburg. I go back and forth between that and UG Civil War. By the way, Steam now offers Age of Rifles from the Wargame Construction Kit III by Strategic Simulations. A real gem from the '90's that still holds up today and a truly forgotten wargame.

Pike and Shot will, I think, go down in gaming history as a true Classic. I have thrown Polish Winged Hussars at any number of enemies and it *NEVER* gets less fun!
Not a fan of the FRONTLINE experience: I tried a few of them. Maybe I gave up too soon...Also I could never get the hang of the Total War games. Maybe just not my cup of tea.

One suggestion for the Civil War video you said you are working on: There is the rather obscure "Grand Tactician The Civil War" that looks interesting but seems to be a bit uneven. Is there a word for a game you have forgotten that you own (a No Timer?) anyway I forgot I have 4 outa 6 of these games. (maybe dementia). I think Pike & Shot is my next No Timer.
