When a local police officer approached Paul Brophy of Weymouth, Massachusetts, and demanded to see his identification, Brophy attempted to invoke his constitutional rights. The officer then escalated the situation to an arrest, claiming Brophy attempted to reach for his weapon. The Police Accountability Report examines the facts of the case, speaking to Paul Brophy himself about the incident.

Secret police who wear uniforms with no name tags are already suspect and a danger to the community

So this judge truly believed that the officer was assaulted??? How is this even possible? They’ve stacked the deck so brutally against the citizens that we really don’t stand a chance.

"There's a potential for a crime." "That's true. There's also a potential for a meteor strike, as well."

When I was 13 years old I was diagnosed with PTSD the irony of that is my family members are police officers. I’ll let that speak for itself.

The cop is a time bomb. It scares me to think of the crimes he has committed.

This is the reason if you’re innocent you should not take a plea deal. You’re pleading guilty and it won’t matter if they didn’t fine or imprison you. Anyone later will consider you a criminal.

The cop's an idiot. He's talking like citizens that call in can determine reasonable suspicion of a crime. A third-party report is not reasonable suspicion. The officer has to establish facts at the scene that would corroborate what the witness reported in order to claim that he has reasonable suspicion of a crime taking place.

I'm curious. How does an ID prove a crime is NOT being committed.?

Everyone may say cop was doing his job, sorry but he was violating a person's rights while in commission of his job and color of law.

You know it's bad when the majority of police/people interactions are of cops power/ego tripping.

That cop is a sick individual. He completely fabricated those charges by intentionally standing in the way preventing the door from being shut and then pretending that the man reaching for the door, after just saying i'm closing the door, was trying to assault him.

When we as people exercise our rights law enforcement labels us as trouble makers or worse hardened criminals. As Americans it is not just our right to exercise our rights it's our duty ! Each and everyone of us must do this or we can watch our rights be stripped away. As you watch this video if you find yourself in favor of the officer I pitty you for you are already contributing to few instead of the many.

The police use the same verbiage and mindset of a serial rapist, or abuser, “Just do what I say and things will go easier for you.”
“If taxation without consent or monitoring is not robbery, then any band of robbers have only to declare themselves a government, and all their robberies are legalized.” – Lysander Spooner
“When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.” – Frédéric Bastiat
“They who can give up the essentials of liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, lose both, and deserve neither!” – Benjamin Franklin
“Washing one's hands of the conflict between the powerful and the powerless means to side with the powerful, not to be neutral.” – Paolo Freire

That officer needs to be fired and jailed for harassment.

Any blatantly fraudulent charges brought upon a citizen by a police officer in retaliation for asserting their civil rights should mean that officer servers at least the maximum sentence for whatever crime they fraudulently arrest someone for.

It’s not just police officers in this country that need to be reformed but these prosecutors need to aswell

It's hard to teach those old dogs new tricks. Thanks to Paul Brophy for his bravery and willingness to push back. Bravo sir!
