Why hasn't Apple adopted USB-C on the new iPhones? They have a good reason.

Easy. Apple makes a ton of money from selling licenses for lightning accessories.

If apple were concerned with something being too much of a change for people they wouldn't have removed the headphone jack or countless other things over the years as they move people into the future. You're essentially taking your very argument of why Apple "should" remove the headphone jack, and are attacking it now. It's just hypocritical. Apple is a business and a business's main objective is to make a profit. It's not a bad thing, it's actually a rather smart and thought out move for them.

The problem with a port-less wireless charging future is that you can't charge your device and use it at the same time. So with that in mind, I'd like them to adopt USB-C as soon as possible.

Clearly, Apple is not going for no port. How are you going to rescue your bricked iphone when it doesn't power on ? wirelessly?
You do need some kind of port for fail safe.

Nah I want USB type C now.

Apple did it with the Mac for F sake.

Apple should do it with the iPhone.

We have to admit it’s a bit of a problem that if you buy a new $2, 000 MacBook Pro and a new $1, 000 iPhone you can’t charge the iPhone with the MacBook Pro out of the box. At least include a lightning to USB-C cable with the iPhones.

Simple. Apple makes a crap ton of money through lightening. They also make a crap ton of money with dongles.

The current state of wireless charging is not the future. The port will survive until the day comes that charging through the air is possible.

The thing that sucks is that the iPhone charger doesn't have USB-C on the other end of the cable. If you buy a brand new MacBook and a brand new iPhone you can't plug your iPhone into your MacBook. Wtf apple??

well, it's a company who tries to make money. So it would be stupid if they didn't do things for money. And keeping proprietary port will make them a lot of money. there's nothing "evil" about that, its a wise business decision, why is it so hard to accept?

The next Apple TV should have a wireless charger on the top for the remote

Never seen so much justification 😂 I mean they can do usbc and move on to wireless later. This guy is funny.

Because they don't own the USB-C patents but they own the lightning patents so they can charge a (quite high) fee for iPhone accessories using lightning. That is also why only a few companies (Belkin for example) offer accessories for Apple products.

Do a video charging iPhone with cable vs wireless. How long it takes to full charged.

*(Apple gets fees from third-party companies that produce products with lightning cables and lightning cable ports)*

Apple should not change lightning to UBS C but indeed change the other end of the cable to UBS C! and switch the 10/12 watt charger with a higher wattage one like that of the macbook (29watt) or something in-between. Currently all this stuff exist but on has to buy it separately....

Does it upset you that I'm watching this on my Google Pixel?

I think Apple should either switch to USB-C or improve the Lightning port.
