Samsonite Pro Duffel Review & What I Pack in it

A review of my newest carry-on bag -- the Samsonite Pro Duffel bag. Built for strength and durability, this bag looks like it will be able to handle the beating of airline travel quite well. This bag has plenty of pockets, and the ability to stack on top of a rolling suitcase.

That is a very nice bag. I really like that there are a lot of different compartments to it. I probably would stick to my main roller bag for longer travel, but that looks really nice for shorter trips!

Thanks for the review of the duffle bag. I like how roomy it is and seems easy to carry. the price is high at $250, yet you got a good deal.

Now, THAT'S a nice bag. I have a roller bag that I wheel onto the plane. I can fit my CPAP machine into that bag, plus some small items so I also have a small tote bag. I'm looking for a replacement tote bag to slide onto the roller bag's handle, but most of them are too big for me. My old one is from a cruise ship gift shop and it's a tri-fold that is about 12" X 10" in size.

Hi Chris. At $250 it's pretty expensive, but at 4150 it's not a bad deal. IL love all the pockets that it has. I like to organize my things into separate pockets so I know where there. I guess for you one big con is that it's not yellow. LOL. Thnaks for sharing and take care.

I'm in the market for a new carry on, I'd like something with more color though

Can you fold it if empty or it always stays rigid?

Still think a carry-on spinner at $100 makes more sense. But as an addition to carry-on it makes sense. A $70 backpack is probable better though as it can be a standalone bag instead of having to be hand-hold or side-strapped

Isn't the standard carry-on 22-14-9? This looks much too big for a carry-on not to mention a personal item. I think the airlines are letting large backpacks on as personal items. Some backpacks look as big as the carry-on. I am not sure if airlines check personal item sizes. How you looked at Rick Steves' original Backdoor carry-on. It is called the Classic Back Door Bag. It only weighs about 2 pounds. It has a shoulder strap and hideaway backpack straps, I have the original from around 1995.

Keys?!?! I wear pants/shorts with zipper pockets, and my keys are ALWAYS in my right zipper pocket. They're secure and I can feel them gently against my thigh, so I always know they're there! If they were in a bag, I would fear losing them, regardless of how secure they were..
