My understanding is most commercial moonshine is just white dog (whiskey before it's aged in the barrel), sometimes with flavors.

I knew someone who always kept some of the good illegal stuff around. But he knew to limit everyone who had some to one shot. Now I know people who buy the legal stuff and the effects it has on people who haven’t had it before and let’s just say the wedding reception got off to a rough start for some of the bridal party. I heard there may have been some illegal stuff but that unconfirmed.
