A buddy of mine made some shine we put it in the freezer after about a week or so it started getting a yellowish tinge to it any ideas. Look good taste good when it come out still tastes fine just the color and it was crystal clear when it come out

I thought first part of distilled alcohol is mostly methanol and you should not drink it

i have some stuff i bought from a friend who was told it was 180 proof, when you shake it, it has larges bubbles that last long but it burns going down and really gets you buzzed quickly

How does one flavor moonshine? Would you just let it soak in there after the cook or would you implement it into the brewing process? I’m wanting to try brewing but I also want to really know what I’m doing.

that dog water is 20% proof at best. "thats right on a hundred proof" as the surface is filled with small bubbles that arent dissipating.

Or you could just buy a $8 hydrometer.

I was told the best way is to take a teaspoon of the shine and light it. The alcohol will burn and what's left is water. For example if half burns away it's about 100proof (50%). The very best strongest shine will leave the spoon with just a little bit of moisture on it.
