I came across Diem25 by an interview of Noam Chomsky, he endorsed it and boy, yes talking about hitting the nail on its head! Great program and innitiative Diem25.org !

Dont get me wrong! DIEM25 is an important political attempt and it needs the best possible support on all levels of society! This comment is just a call to make it better, since the way DIEM25 is broadcasted especially with this video is a crap. This video is harmful to the movement, since it sets the movement in one with the prevailing aesthetics of cuddly-cozy capitalism. Too cheap „they“ and „we“ rhetorics miss the point. Dump image metaphors like the „spider“ are taking us – the „we“ – for idiots. And the stock image sequences of the „we“ are the same as banks, funds and insurances would use to trap us. If this is the way DIEM25 perceives the world it is a crap too, but i don`t believe this. I think it is a well meant mistake to put it on the main page. At its best it is comedy. Look at 1:59 in the video it looks so pathetic, i was expecting Varoufakis him self to be the one running towards us to „save“ the world ;-) Why do you copy the image-worlds of advertising agencies and hollywood?
Please, Filmmakers! Look at everyday life, not at Hollywood! Open your eyes and you have plenty of image-worlds and voices to be broadcasted! For example read Rancière to understand the political dimension of how we „see“ the world. "The Politics of Aesthetics: The Distribution of the Sensible“. I hope it reaches the ones responsible for this video.

I am considering to vote for DiEm24 and have been reading and watching a lot of their public statements for the last couple of days, but honestly...this spot is definitely not contributing to my positive impression of the movement. Its narrative and cheapness make me wonder who is responsible and more importantly, who approves of this?
