Why Budget 2021 must focus on growth & not fiscal deficit

Economists are arguing for expansionary Budget, so govt won’t be criticised much for not being prudent. Target should be to boost growth by pushing demand.

I always appreciate your opinion, however I don't understand as to why you think that Income Tax could not be reduced or eliminated all together in order to revive demand and stimulate increased spending by the middle class ! On a particular occasion, I heard you say that "Nobody will do it" on a question of income tax reforms. My question is "Why Not !" Why won't this government do away with Income Tax completely? And how is it, that such a step would not make an impact in the overall eco-system of the economy and the aspect of black money (which still exists even after demonitization).

Even pranab went for a huge stimulus plan after 2008 GFC. But the FD went so high and govt suffered so much to pull it down. In south Asian region we are hugely debted country. Investors doesn't show interest to make investments if gdp to debt ratio is so high. And even we need to compel with FRBM Legislation. FD should be 3%. Govt spending is high compare to last quarter.

What if people are given a choice between DBT (in lieu of PDS) and PDS Card, any one, and MSP & PDS administration is transferred to the State Govts along with money for the same, but only money for those who have opted for PDS Card.
