Same thing happened to me at work with a nest of hummingbirds. The birds were nested in a sapling tree next to the garage door, and Mom had 2 babies. One day one of them fell to the ground and was too young to fly or move on its own. So I carefully picked up the baby and put it back in the nest. Mom bird was so happy, when I would drive into the parking lot at work, she would fly into the cab of my truck, and greet me. Of course, I had to go see the bird family, and Mom bird always would fly next to me to guide me to the nest. That was awesome to have a nest of hummingbirds to greet me every morning.

I have fed my family of crows every day for past five years, I know they know me and trust me, they have had a family either three or four every year, they call to me when they see me, amazing intelligent animals, I will keep feeding them as long as I am here.

My dad worked construction. A crew of men were cutting down the trees to make way for the new building. One tree had a nest of 3 baby crows. 3 men each took a baby crow home with them. My dad was one of those 3 men. I remember my mom was NOT happy having a baby crow in the house. He made a nest (with an old blanket) in a cardboard box and put it on top of the refrigerator, where it would stay warm. This was in the early 1960’s and refrigerators were vastly different than they are now. I don’t remember what my parents fed it, but it thrived and soon it had all its feathers and learned to fly. He got it acclimated to being outside, little by little. Soon it decided to stay outside. I have so many wonderful memories of him. There were 5 of us kids. We lived in the country, with our closest neighbor being a mile away. He went with us, no matter how far we went from home. He always knew where we were. When my
mom yelled for us to come in, we couldn’t hear her because we were so far away. The crow would start yelling “what?”, and we knew she was calling us to come home. I have a ton more stories about him, if anyone wants to hear more.

We were given a baby crow when our kids were little. I raised it in a makeshift aviary until it started to fly. I let it go but it never left. He was always outside and totally free. He was known all over our small town. It was a wonderful experience too long to describe here. I know everything is this story is true. Crows are vastly underestimated creatures. I cried listening to this man’s story.

I've been around animals all my life, and see things daily that a lot of people never would believe. Some animals & their love for me, I would not be alive.

We once had a magpie visit our backyard, for a short time & it wld run to greet us & sing the same tune every day. As mysteriously as it appeared, it disappeared after a few visits. I've always loved birds, particularly magpies. My mother used to feed a group bacon rind in her back yard & I've, recently, had 1 come to my front door to be fed oats.

My grandma had a pet Bluejay for quite a few years.
She would feed it Corn-chips.
The bird would land on her shoulder and over time the bird would land on our shoulders as well.
My grandma would give each of us grand kids a quarter and we’d walk into town to buy some sort of candy.
Pretty Bird (the Bluejay) would follow us kids by flying from tree to tree and chirping at us both to and from town (about 3/4 of a mile).
Pretty Bird got to where it would bring my grandma peanuts to “repay” her for the Corn Chips.
Pretty Bird had chicks and they too would come around too, but they were never as tame as Pretty Bird.
That was over 50 years ago now, but they were good memories of my grandma and Pretty Bird.

Those crows probably took the locket years earlier, and then they returned it, seemingly knowing that it would bring Stewart warm memories.
