There is an easier way of doing some of these problems. Take 3.2 x10 power 5 +8.7 x 10 power 6. Just change the power of one to equal the power of the other.. In this example, change 3.2 x 10 power 5 to 0.32 x 10 power 6. Then add, 0.32 to 8.7, equals 9.02 power 6. That's it !!!
