For finding the satisfaction factor, using a plate is one of my biggest tips. Even if it’s as simple as bringing my pretty blue Corelle plate with me to Chick fil A and taking a minute to move my nuggets and waffle fries from their cardboard boxes to a plate. It changes the entire meal experience.

I also know there’s the interpretation of “feel your fullness” that has to do with honoring your hunger and eating towards higher numbers on the hunger scale. Not that you want to stuff yourself and eat so much that you’re uncomfortable, but if you know at breakfast time that your next opportunity to eat might not be for 5-6 hours, then you might want to eat closer to an 8 on the hunger scale. Even though diet culture promotes clearing your plate and ignoring fullness cues, it can also promote hunger as a badge of honor. There have been times where I left a meal just barely not hungry because I believed that hunger was a sign I was doing things right. I do agree with your view on things; I think it’s a somewhat nuanced thing that can be taken on a case to case basis. Sometimes, you can eat just to the point of “not hungry” because you’re in a position to honor your hunger when it reappears. Other times, eating a little bit past that is a form of practical hunger. Both are ok.

As you know, I’m a WW Lifetime member and I have been successful in keeping the weight off for 4 years (my anniversary is tomorrow!!)
I’m starting to use some principles of IE. I’m not weighing every single thing. I’m listening to my hunger more. I’m stopping restricting.
Whether or not I stop tracking is still an unknown.
Listening to you so helps me!

I’ve had people say “can you have that?”!!!
I actually had a charm that said “yes I can have that”! I lost it. 😢
Then on the opposite side, people have said “you’ve lost your weight, so can’t you just eat anything?”
