Fiona MacDonald on living with motor neurone disease | Australian Story

Diagnosed in 2021, the once beloved TV host Fiona MacDonald is living with motor neurone disease.

The neurodegenerative disease, kills nerves known as motor neurons, causing muscle wasting and paralysis.

Professor Dominic Rowe suspects environmental factors are linked to the disease.

My dear sister is also suffering from MND… but has progressed to not being able to swallow, arm is paralysed, can’t keep her head up. Has a peg tube now and needs care with personal hygiene. I cry for her…. Any infection now could be fatal… 😢
