I'm not Christian, but the undercurrent of their shared faith is important. At the end of the day, what matters is a sense of kinship and shared vision on how a couple wants to live life. And the fact they have a connection fostered in their faith makes it easier to bridge any kinds of gaps as opposed to being complete polar opposites. Been there, done that, it rarely works. As my late father used to say, "as a man son, no matter WHAT KIND OF WOMAN you pick, you're gonna have some stress! Just make sure it's the stress of your choosing." I never forgot that. Continued success to the two of them.

It’s so satisfying hearing the Jesus element in your relationship that I hope more persons could listen. My grandmother black woman was married to a white Irish man that’s in the 1930s but in my country it wasn’t a big issue instead a privilege

What a wonderful expression of who we are in Christ. Above all we are people who come out of a variety of backgrounds. The beauty is in seeing each other's value and not the racial barriers that the enemy (the devil) or the world tries to infect us with. Blessings on you and your beautiful family

Nicky you are WONDERFUL Of COURSE Jeff is ALSO (smile) ! I'm a black woman. I dated a white fellow and one day we went to the movies when a deaf-mute white woman came to where we were waiting in line and separated us with her hands and and did a "shame, shame" finger-rubbing gesture ! HOW SAD was that gesture when she had OTHER problems in her life !

A church that is racist or embraces racism is not church of Christ. It's that simple!

When I was studying how God addressed interracial marriage, I was naturally drawn to Num 12. At that time, I just read that God punished Miriam’s racism by giving her leprosy and then healing her in a week. I didn’t realize the severity; my mind perceived it as she got sick and then was healed. It’s only recently that I realized that God sentenced her to a slow and painful death (unlike being struck by lightning where death is instantaneous) for her racism.

I thank God Almighty for your interview. You both articulated your situation extremely well. I do believe that the Lord has blessed you both to meet and marry. Continue the good work and educating people concerning equality as it pertains to race. May God continue to bless you and your family as you strive to see Jesus christ.

This is what happens when race is not honestly talked about in churches. So many churches are so unwilling to talk about this and it ended up killing or severely hurting relationships that could be saved if we actually listened. As a black woman, I can say it gets tiring when the church is willing to talk about abortion, LGBTQ matters, politics but when it comes to race we all of a sudden shut black folks, Mexican folks native folks down then use a token person of color to justify it. I am glad you guys made this video because so many churches are too cowardly to address this. Props to you guys 🙏🏾
