Made 33 sales in one month. Self promotion on Twitter, Instagram, and speaking in rooms on clubhouse. No FB ads. For me not to spend money and upload when I’m bored. I’m happy!

It's my understanding you have to pick a specific niche to sell/market your POD products to. If you're just throwing any ole' POD product out there and hoping it will stick with your 'design' idea then yes you will most likely fail. You have to build an authentic emotional connection with that niche, whether its funny orthopedic surgeon tees or beekeepers, whatever it is, that's your target market.

...let me add to this message...$10 for FB to acquire a customer is for a really really good design.
There is no in-between when it comes to design, it's either really good (make a profit) or not (send hundreds in FB and got ZERO sales) .
Note: 1)The cream of the crop will sell at a profit, so you NEED to elevate your design game 2) DO NOT fall in love with your designs, test it out, if it doesn't work...move on.
Joe, thanks for the video, great message.

Bro, you can't just upload a video that dont sell on printify or etc. Maybe for you, it's bad but, for others is going well. I hate watching videos when people fail and the title says "I have lost $1000 on print on demand products, etc" My people don't watch those negative and stupid videos, walk your own path and trust yourself.

In relation to the thumbs up. Here's a suggestion to all who are looking to start or have a store or stores running. Write down a list of every search you can come up with. Search those subjects, add them to your playlist. Then go through each video (note; pen and paper is a must, unless you have a laptop available which is easier). This video has been in my playlist for about 6 weeks, been busy organising my future, researching various subjects. As Joe states don't just focus on the one item. Of course you can create things for shirts, but their are literally 1, 000 of other things that can be printed on. Thanks Joe for the car seat suggestion (millions of people own cars so that's definitely worth investigating). Especially for the area that I am interested in 👍

Everything you warn about happened to me. I started a shop selling mostly shirts. Got almost no sales despite my efforts. I tried multiple POD suppliers and the print quality was crap on all of them. I got 6 samples from 4 printfify suppliers and they pretty much all sucked. As in, I wouldn't be willing to sell them. Only printful had consistent print quality. They are more expensive, but no suppliers on printify are capable of an acceptable level of quality for DTG printing. I didn't try all-over prints, just DTG.

I like the intro "Hey Joe, it's guys here". Good to start a video with some humor.

Direct to garment printing is not a “stamp” it works similar to an ink jet printer, it sprays the ink directly onto the garment. A screen printed shirt is higher quality but is so much more expensive because the printing company uses a separate screen for each color, requires more equipment, and is a longer process to produce the image.

I remember that post in the FB group. I still have some t-shirts up in my store with zero sales lol. Not wasting my time anymore on t-shirts.

Its 2024 now and you are absolutely right. I just started my shopify, I have mostly hoodies, journals, coffee mugs and 2 t-shirts. My designs I believe are more unique then the basic quote stuff that you see everywhere. But nothing is new under the sun. I hand draw my designs old school medium being a pencil pen and markers then take a picture and edit it a little before uploading to printful. I'm not sure what everyone else does, but ya they mostly all look the same you can't tell who makes them, because they all have that same theme going. I don't know if my art is good enough to make it big, but I'm putting myself out there and I'm real, so I'm putting heart into it. I just launched Bold and courageous designs, but could use some marketing tips. I don't have alot of money to invest right now, but I do have the time and like I said heart to give it my best. Let me know if you have any recommendations that aren't gonna cost me too much over head. Thanks

One thing you did neglect to say is that pillow profits is 29.99 a month how does that come into play when trying to make a profit as a newbie POD store

I’m so embarrassed. You literally just described my whole store. Reason I got motivated is because you see other promotions out there and in the comments everyone bought it lol. Well back to the drawing board. Thanks for the advise.

Well i am doing gr8 with selling tshirts, like i am getting a shirt for $6 + $4 shipping, also cost per purchase is somewhere around $6-$9, so the total cost becomes $ 19, and i sell them for 27.95, now its all about the upsell game like i usually do shipping upsell like free standard and premium shipping, which 80% people goes for standard gets me extra $1.90 .and more over i use app like vital for store optimization and upsell, as it increases average order value by 30% . So ya its profitable for me, i think selling shirts is all about the volume game the more you sell the more you earn ....
