“In 2000, adoption was not a common thing. So when 17 year old me got asked in school what I wanted to do in my life, I said, 'I want to be an adoptive mom!' Sushmita Sen inspired me. Kids laughed at me but I didn't care. And to make it happen, I knew I had to excel in life. So, I focussed on my education. In college, I met Rishu. We started out as friends but began dating a year later. After our MBA, 3 years later, we tied the knot!
He was on board with the idea of adoption. And so, in 2016, we registered at an adoption centre. But the next year was agonising; the wait was long. But when we were finally saw Aadya's profile, we felt an instant connection with her – we knew she was our baby!
To meet her, we drove from Delhi to Agra–I was so anxious the entire ride. While waiting, my hands were so cold and my mind was all over the place. That’s when they said, ’Aapki beti ko hum leke aa raha hai!’ 'Aapki beti!' I had goosebumps.
One look at Aadhya and I was in love. Rishu held her first. Time froze for me when she smiled. As I took her in my arms, her warmth filled me and she just slept! I wondered why I hadn’t done this sooner. We spent the night just watching her.
3 days later, we brought our 5 month old baby home. As challenging as parenting was, Rishu and I were enthu parents – from bathing to changing diapers to feeding. And every time she smiled, I melted because I knew she was my baby. And the day she said Mama for the first time–I cried.
With Aadya, two years flew by. And in 2019, when I conceived, we were SO happy! We moved to Bangalore and soon had Adwika. Our family felt complete–we had everything we could ask for!
Ever since, I've helped a lot of my friends with adoption. Now, I even help spread awareness about the same.
As for our family, Rishu and I are very honest with each other. Last year, when Aadya asked me, 'Did I not come from your tummy?' I told her that she came from my heart. Oh you should have seen the big bright that earned me!
Today, Aadya and Adwika are inseparable - they play, dance and even fight. My heart fills with joy when I see my two babies together – they are so different and yet so similar! It just goes on to show that blood or not, love conquers all, right?”

I don't wants to say anything about sushmita sen's life but what she did is really inspiring. I'm also so much inspired by her decision to adopt girl child and do same. And you know what my daughter turns 8 now. She's our first child.
Go for it and you are surely blessed with all the happiness in the world . Wants to suggests the people please go for adoption instead of unhealthy expensive medical treatment (which definitely had lots of side effects afterwards) or surrogacy.

We applied for adoption in 2020 April, when we applied the queue was at 2000, 3 and half years later right now the queue is 400 as of today. We had a baby girl 2 years back but we still want to adopt as that would complete our family. Eagerly waiting for that day to welcome that 2nd girl into our family
