Honestly never been more invested in an unboxing. Spending so much on something and it being worth it is such a relief. Please be careful with the knife. If hand sanitizer can damage the aesthetic of the books, I'm pretty sure blood wouldnt be the best thing to get on them.

During the hip hop beat and the panning around the book I really hoped Daniel would come in and rap the review.

Having been a Navy Lithographer who did a LOT of book bindery, and having served as an acting Government Printing Officer for over a year at my place of employment, from what I am seeing, that is some super-fine bindery work. I can't speak for the signature stitching and gluing, but the leaf foil, and leather treatment/foiling, that is some superb, high-quality workmanship. Just looking. That 3d embossed foiling is really hard to get right even with modern machinery. It's gorgeous looking at it. Touch IS the only way to tell real quality of bindery in these situations. If Daniel's tactile experience is good ( I noticed he checked his hands for foil residue a couple times), It's worth the price.
Those illuminated plates are absolutely wonderful. Let me say, the work involved with making, trimming and inserting those nicely aligned plates is extremely labor-intensive.
Careful opening the books, folks. There are videos on how to properly open and prepare a now book's spine for reading without cracking it.

A great thing about the art in these books: a decent amount of pieces in the second volume were stellar fanart that Brandon licensed to use in these!

I love the Kaladin art??? He looks BEAUTIFUL. Also love that art of the Parshendi, I've always had trouble visualizing them and that art makes them look so beautiful

ALSO the leather bound editions are absolutely gorgeous holy shit. The exterior is beautiful but I love that there’s so much art inside the book, too.

FYI: Brandon did handsign all of these. He did his livestreams signing them. Probably at some point in the future he won’t be able to keep doing that but all the kickstarter ones are handsigned.
