About Rurouni Kenshin:
With over 72 million copies of the comic series sold and a total box office revenue of 19.3 billion yen from the live-action movie series, the legendary masterpiece loved by all generations worldwide, Rurouni Kenshin comes back to life as a brand-new TV anime in 2023.

The original work was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1994, and in 1996 it was made into a TV anime for the first time. Since then, it has undergone numerous developments, from OVAs to theatrical releases, and now with Rurouni Kenshin: The Hokkaido Arc serializing in Jump SQ.

This long-awaited work aims to reconstruct the original story from the first episode using the latest animation technology, to create a Rurouni Kenshin anime that will appeal to current anime fans.

For the animation production, talented staff such as director Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood) and Hideyuki Kurata (Made in Abyss) for series composition were gathered. The cast members will be renewed, with Soma Saito in the role of Kenshin Himura.

After nearly 30 years of serialization, the new TV anime Rurouni Kenshin is coming soon.

I don't think many people are aware of the live-action movies of Rurouni Kenshin. They are SO good. You should really give them a chance. One of the few examples of a good live-action adaptation.

I'll always have a special place in my heart for the opening song from the original series. It's so intrinsically tied to my earliest memories of summer, rain, and the smell of damp woods. I imagine this anime can't come close to this kind of memory for me; but man, am I happy to see it get a reboot. Hope the new generation will come to enjoy the cast and story too.

My friend introduced Rurouni Kenshin to me in late middle school/early high school and I fell in love with it. Me and said friend are now best friends and are getting an apartment together. I can't wait to watch this together we are both so excited!

I've been a huge fan of Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X since I was in gradeschool. I'm now 30, and the awesomess of this anime never falters❤. I can't wait! I hope this new anime won't ruin the Jinchu Arc. Don't want another disappointment, exactly what I felt with the OVA and the last two live action films😅.
