When I was in college, at 19, I went to the student health center with stomach pains. The doctor wanted to do a pregnancy test. I declined to do one since I WAS A VIRGIN, they still did it behind my back. I didn't know they did it til the bill showed up on my student account. $20 was lot to me at the time. I called and asked for a reversal on the charge since it was something done without my knowledge or consent. The doctor refused because "students lie all the time so we had to be sure".

It took me getting the dean's office involved to get the charge reversed.

My hubby was adopted from europe. He was dropped off at a convent as an infant. No one knew who his family was. The intake nurse put on his chart that he was being "non-compliant" since he wouldn't answer family medical questions. He just said he didn't know anything because of his adoption status. NON COMPLIANT

I will never forget filling out a survey at the doctor where one of the options for "current birth control" was "homosexuality" and I was like "why isn't this an option everywhere? it would save so much time and headache"

A hospital asked me this... i said no. At the end of my stay they informed me that they ran a test and it came back negative. I told them that im not paying for it, i told them that i am not pregnant and this is the hospital that performed my hysterectomy! They removed the charge.

One time they ran a pregancy test after I told them I was actively menstruating. The test came back negative… but they wanted to alert me that they detected blood in the sample.

I once foolishly said " I get I LOOK pregnant right now, but I'm not..."

Omg!! Never. Ever. Utter the word pregnant in a hospital!!
They cancelled my blood infusion because, and I quote " used the term ' pregnant ', in the admission clinic!!'

I was literally joking with the nurses that my feet were swollen and I was short or breath- all due to the blood loss I had- and they did the usual pregnancy check pre infusion, it was NEGATIVE- And we were just joking together.... some doctor overhead and went nuts and cancelled it all!!
Took 3 weeks, 2 extra pregnancy tests and even an ULTRASOUND to prove I wasn't pregnant before it was sorted.

It was truly insane. Kinda glad to read I'm not alone in this.... it was so nuts I always thought no one would believe this happened!!

Went to er for lower back pain (felt like being stabbed) they asked are you pregnant i said no its that time of the month as soon as i said that i was was told "Stop being hysterical. Its just cramps from your monthly go home." I decided to go home and wait it out. Next day i could barely walk from pain. 2nd day im unable to keep even water down from the pain. 3 days later im in a different hospital 2 bags of liquid antibiotics hooked up to me l. Turns out i had a double kidney infection that almost killed me, all because a doctor judged me as a woman and not a human being. Men get treated like human beings. It would be so nice to be treated like that.

My favorite was when the doctor asked "have you ever had children" and I said "I've never even been pregnant" and he said "okay but have you given birth?" And I think that scrapped the last bit of trust I had in the medical system.

Had a surgery in 2006 and they did a pregnancy test after I told them I wasn’t pregnant. Saw it on the itemized bill. I was furious. I had a hysterectomy in 2001 and listed it on my previous surgeries before this appointment. I ripped billing a new one and wrote a letter to the hospital board.

Too right on! I tell some docs that I've had a complete hysterectomy, and I still get that skeptical look and follow up questions. Usually "My last period was in February of 2020" shuts them up. 😂😂😂

I went to the ER for stomach pain, they sent me home saying it’s nothing, I got back and they did two pregnancy tests to make sure I wasn’t pregnant. My appendix nearly burst in the meanwhile… but sure no worries, I mean it’s not like I wasn’t sexually active in the last 6 months hahaha

I hate this. They ask you 7 different ways. "I'm not pregnant, I'm dating a cis girl, haven't had sex, and have pcos. If I'm pregnant you better call the press because this is some immaculate conception shit..."

The number of times I’ve had to tell doctors that I’m not pregnant and am not in a relationship with someone who is capable of getting me pregnant… Had a doctor argue with me that it was necessary and angrily responded “I don’t think my girlfriend got me pregnant!” He at least looked embarrassed and backed off after that.
