Fun fact about firefighters. In natural disasters, like hurricanes, the firefighters AND THEIR FAMILIES will go and stay at the fire stations. Sometimes their families will go to shelters, but the firemen almost always stay at the station during and after the storm. This way they’re there as soon as they can start getting out to rescue folks.

I'm a volunteer junior firefighter with a volunteer fire Co. Let me tell you this, riding in the rig to a call with the sirens and lights, it's the most adrenaline pumping thing bc you know you're going as fast as you can to save the environment and people's lives.

I have spent a day at a fire station. And they do sleep at the station. They have this big bedroom for all the fire fighters. And they have an alarm in the room in case of emergency. It will go off if it is an emergency. Everybody has their own shift, some same as others. Each fire fighter has a 48 hour shift so 2 days on shift 2 days off.fire fighters work hard to save peoples lives and I respect that. Be safe people!

My dad doesn't tend to watch these kinds of videos on YouTube, but I saw him watching it in the living room. He started talking about how he knew some of the guys and was telling my brother and I stories about them. This made my dad walk down memory lane. He's served around 30 years in the OFD.

When I was in 5th grade, there was an apartment fire and it was HUGE. Our school didn't close for some reason and we had to get away from the building. Me and my other friend saw this and that was quite interesting but at the same time sad. After school I went in front of the house where all the firefighters were and I asked one of them what had happened and they said that an old woman had smoked a cigarette and threw it on the carpet. 1 was transported to the hospital and the rest were fine. The whole middle part of the apartment had been burnt and they had torn it down a couple of days later. It's crazy to see that a singular cigarette can cause a massive structure fire and kill many innocent lives.

The “noise from the station” is call tones. That alerts firefighters when they get a call.

Over the summer my house burnt down luckily no one was home but it was terrible they are planning to have it done by Thanksgiving tho so we're just lucky

i want to become a firefighter, this video inspired me more to be able to know what its like and i might go see if the local fire station will let me spen a day with them. im going to talk to them asap so that i can learn more about it
