For many years I was always told, "And Believed" that I was Transgender. I was never told until later in life that I had Surgical Intervention on my genitals as a baby. I was born with hypospadias and the opening for my urethra was at the very base of my Penis. My parents were besides themselves because this happened in the 60"s. I was pushed to be as masculine as possible my whole life. I found out after many failed relationships 10 years ago that I was in fact born Intersex, with XXY Chromes. I wish there were people like you back when i was younger. Thank you for sharing and being so generous with your story. It does make a difference trust me :)

Your whole way of talking about these issues is spectacular! Your self-acceptance is a breath of fresh air. The world is lucky to have you.

During my 20s I met and dated an intersex woman. It was a great experience and she introduced me the intersex society which opened my eyes. Regardless, I love people for who they are period and accept them the way that they are period. And I am so happy that you have decided to share your story and educate.

I am a much older intersex woman, and I am a medical doctor. I don't have CAIS but PAIS and the 46 XY Sex Reversal Syndrome. Unlike you, I was assigned male at birth, and my genitalia were surgically "normalized". I had, like you, no real puberty because of PAIS, and because of the Sex Reversal thing, my body slowly femalized, and at one point I switched my presentation from male to female.
I decided to become a medical doctor, to help people like you and I, to live our life to the fullest.
You are right not to tell every person and their dog about you being intersex, only your partners and your medical providers need to know.
I wish you lots of luck on you path to your future, and I hope you will become a happy woman like I am one!

As a 72 year old woman I came to your video with no knowledge of what intersex means, but interested to find out. Thank you for sharing so candidly your experience. I am grateful to have a deeper understanding, and have subscribed to continue my education and to follow you on your journey.

Thanks for sharing your story.
My Godmother was Intersex. There were always rumors around it. She never married, never even had a bf. But she was the most hardworking, loving and caring person. Very misunderstood.
Thanks!

I'm just an old guy from Missouri. My second cousin was intersex. I was the only one in the family that knew, (outside of her adoptive parents, and her husband later on), and I never judged her. She said I was her "safe place", and I felt honored that she felt that way. I loved her for the person she was, and became. She touched a lot of lives in a very positive way.She is passed now, so I guess it doesn't matter that much.
She got married to a really nice guy, (Fireman), and had a good life. Back in the 1960's you did not speak of such things. Her father passed when she was very young, and her mother gave her up to my other aunt and uncle who raised her with love and compassion. They were truly great people.
Here's my 2 cents for anyone that cares.
You are beautiful, intelligent, and anyone would be very lucky to have you as a partner. Live your life with greatness. Be happy for the ones who understand, and don't worry about the ones who don't. When all is said and done, look back and be able to say, "Wow! I did all that!"
i wish you happiness and joy.
Smiles and love,

Mom sending you to the intersex convention is so thoughtful. How important for kids to have support in their life

Days.

I would like to thank you for opening my eyes to my own ignorance. I saw your "I have testicles in my stomach" youtube short about 45 minutes ago and since then, I have done 15 minutes of research and watched this video. And in that 45 minutes, I discovered just how ignorant I am. I am a high school teacher so I encounter binary and non-binary issues kids struggle with daily. And while I have always tried to accept, empathize and support, I believe that you have helped do something more powerful. You have helped me understand. Thank you for helping me help them.

Thank you. I am a 79 year old man who knew nothing about intersex until recently viewing a TED talk. Because of that, the YouTube algorithm presented me with your video. You are exceptionally vivacious and I think that any man or woman would be fortunate to have you as a friend. I admire you and your efforts to help others attempting to navigate a difficult situation in an often intolerant world.

This intersex introduction, regarding a little know subject, was a genuine honest talk bringing an enlightened viewpoint and wellbeing to many.
Well done, thank you.

I'm an 82 year old gay man who came out in the early 1970's. What you're doing for the intersex community is extremely important... as well as the general community. I didn't know much about intersex life until fairly recently. I admire what you're doing and wish you the best!

When you got to the part, in the doctor's office when your parents started to cry, I started crying myself. You are such a brave person and are educating so many. God bless you, Blume!

I REALLY REALLY admire the fact you're not ashamed or scared to share yourself and your story with the world despite possible backlash and ignorance you may face! You're truly an inspiration! ❤ I love it!

Thank you, I had absolutely no understanding of intersex people until this video. Most of us have a very different understanding of intersex and it’s important that your message gets out. Thank you for this, it’s perspective changing in an enormous way. ❤

Wow, as a 74 year old Male who has always been open to continuing education in life, I thought that I was adequately versed regarding LGBTQIA definitions, but your content here has shown me that we are never done being educated in life. This is the first time that I have heard about your condition & its' definition, so thank you so much for being so brave & transparent enough to share your condition & how it has affected your life to date, with the global community. My wish for you is that you continue to benefit in every positive way from sharing yourself with your subscribers, of which I have become one tonight.

Thank you for being so strong and telling people the honest truth. As a medical professional it is upsetting to hear very public people telling the world untruths that fit their own narrative. Thanks for being a hero!
