When I was a kid I was here, there, and everywhere on Redstone Arsenal in 2008/9.
For whoever knows of the former Walker Village in Fort HOOD, I can only imagine what unsupervised, free-roaming children who lived there got themselves into being in close proximity to barracks areas.

Late 70's Germany, nothing like watching rando diapered toddlers running around the Kaserne in the middle of the winter. It was like a Mad Max movie. Our favorite game was, "I wonder what's behind the barbed wire fence?"

Can confirm dad was a marine this is how I grew up 😂 and my brother was even more feral than me 😂 I cused out my teacher many times and my brother fought his teacher when he was 8 😂

In the previous generations most children were "free range" or feral. Teach your children morals, values and the 3Rs. Feral children become self sufficient.

We had two kids as civilians, two more while he was on active duty and two more as a veteran family. It's not so bad having a large family. So long as the kids don't stage a coop while he's out of town, I'm good 😂

Sometimes it's about budgeting for what you enjoy. If you enjoy brand new sportscars and two week Club Med vacations fewer/none kids. If you enjoy kids then used cars and an afternoon at the local beach.

Not a military brat, but I still bit other kids as a kid. Until the woman who ran the daycare I was at got sick of me biting and bit me. I stopped after that
