Waves plugins were pretty much always available as 29.99 - I have no idea how you could possibly be this shocked 😂

However they often do $29.99 AND buy two get 1 or 2 free. This is not a great deal as far as Waves goes.

It’s gonna take more than sales (when that’s been their M.O. for years) to gain previously loyal customer’s trust back—myself included. They won’t be able to measure the damage they’ve done to their bottom line til year end, and doing a desperate fire sale at this juncture will just skew their metrics. They would have been better advised to focus on more thoughtful and personalized communications to biggest and most loyal customers to rebuild relationships and go from there. But clearly that’s “thoughtful” and “personalized” is not in their vocabulary.

Nothing special or different about this sale

As I've stated in other videos, I will continue to use the waves plugins that I own(as long as they work!), but won't be spending any more money with them. Gathering data on alternatives. There are plenty out there!

Still, you buy a $29.99 plugin that is worth $300, great deal. But you change computer or operating software, surprise!!! All of a sudden you have to pay $100 plus to get those plugins back in previous sessions. It’s like buying a car and have to pay every years to keep it rolling. Waves is dead to me, there are so many plugins manufacturers with better products and lifetime free updates I won’t ever use Waves again

Well they are on sale almost the whole year so... not really the case....

30 bucks/plugin is their standard sale price and nothing worth of mentioning (there may be some bestprices now, but that 30$-point is mostly just a matter of time) who bought those Plugins for that exorbitant listing prices? They should give up their insane and outdated update system to earn some trust back instead imo. A subscription model is ok as an ALTERNATIVE for one time purchases, nothing more.

Waves have to copy from Universal Audio, they also have subscription, but when you buy a plugin from UA is free to upgrade and when you choose the subscription your plugin will work and when you decide to cancel the subscription the plugins you buy should work and get free up dates period. To me if Waves get rid of the upgrade plan and introduce free upgrade for your purchase plugins new and old customers will be happy too. I think the Ai chain is amazing as a professional mixer I will use that and pay the monthly fee.

Im a Reason I dont do there subscription plan but I can see the benefit of it, as it could save Me money over the long term because it can be termed on or off each month. I usually spend a few weeks making lots of instrumentals or samples with a selection of devices and then not use them for months at a time. I think if Waves did the same ability to tern subscription on or off any given month It would be good.

They used to be $29.99... buy two get one free...

The real scam they're running: I'm sure they got thousands of update plan purchases the second they restored the ability to buy an update plan. People buying time so they can shop for alternatives. They probably made millions of dollars this weekend at $240 per customer (that's the cap price on an update plan).

That’s really nice of you to say this is their way of saying I’m sorry, or what have you.
But…I doubt it.
It’s about money. Just like the subscription plan is.
All plugins are $30. So what does that mean? It means they’re about to sell a buNch of plugins. Which aLso means what? Yes that’s right, that a buNch of new WUPs are going into effect. They’re about to make a Lot more money with this and the sub-service which I think is awesome. How they Hulk-smashed everyone in the head with the sub is nOt awesome.

Or this could’ve been the plan from the beginning. Get a crazy buzz going and then drop the plug-ins back to 29.99 Hoping that a lot of people will say “we need to grab these now before the prices go up” because most people thought they weren’t gonna be back to 29.99 since they have the subscription plan now

I don't think this is an attempt to gain back trust - they reverted back to the pricing that runs 24/7 with the usual sale signs plastered all over the site. I would bet that in the coming months we will see these prices gradually increase - so that the subscription eventually appears to be the better option. By the end of they year (or maybe sooner) I would expect to see a normal price of ~$150 with an occasional $30-$50 sale on individual/perpetual. This is the only way they won't get mopped by PA, Softube, etc as they continue to hope customers fall for their subscription model.
