The real question is: " Why aren't teens driving? " It's obvious they can't afford it, they have ride sharing now, with all the car thefts, catalytic converter being stolen, or getting killed from a carjacking. Why would they rush towards the b.s. that comes with it?

I didn't get my driver's license until I was 23. A lot of people were worried about me driving just because I'm autistic. Thankfully, my mom believed that I could drive although she wanted to wait until I was mature enough to handle it since I was developmentally delayed. Honestly, I feel like most 16 year olds don't take driving seriously anyway, and you sometimes wonder if 16 year olds should even be allowed to drive in the first place. In most of Europe, you can't drive until you are 18. Despite being autistic, I would say I am actually a more responsible driver than most other people. I don't drive even after one drink, I've never been charged with DUI or reckless driving, and I haven't gotten a single speeding ticket. The only ticket I've ever gotten was for failure to drive on the right which I personally think was a bunch of crap. I've been in two accidents, but only one was my fault, and the one that was my fault happened just because I zoned out while driving meaning it was an honest mistake.

I was never intrested in how cars work or in driving them. I went to driving classes and I never passed theory exam..It's simple - I do not care about driving a damn car. I can't focus on the road and the other drivers and all the rules at once. It' s not for everyone and I am not going to risk someone's or my life, pay for registration or fines or whatever just to get from one point to another..I'm surprised there are so many drivers as it is. But people need to realise that it is normal for somebody to simply not want to do it. They don't have to have anxiety, fear of driving or whtvr. It doesn't make you that independent either😊

I was 29 years old in getting my driver’s license. I was a chicken when I was 16 years old in getting it. I waited for almost 13 years in getting it. I got it in mid December 1999 shortly after getting my 1st car. I got my car in mid October 1999 which was a 1998 Ford Contour SE. Now I drive a 2020 Ford Escape SE in black and I’m 53 years old. I’m pretty good driver so far.

1:23 1:32 " Worry about driving " Translation " What, I actually have to learn ( and abide by ) traffic rules and make an effort to operate a car ? I need a therapy possum with me at all times. "
