Why teens are waiting before getting their driver's licenses

Teenagers getting their driver's license has been a rite of passage for decades— though these days it seems many are opting for the passenger seat instead.

I have my probationary license. I've been driving with it for over a year. I am saving up for a used Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited SUV.

Today, owning a car is much more responsibility for the younger Gen & they prefer their parents to drive them. Back in the day, car insurance & seat belts were optional.

I got my drivers license but buying a car mustang is so expensive 😢

Let them get it when they need it. I am age 50 cars are expensive, insurance, and parking fees. Plus maybe they need to think about getting like a motorcycle. I did when I was in school.

This surprises me iv could not wait to get behind the wheel without supervision, im 39 now I cannot tell you how much i have enjoyed all aspects, except gridlock traffic, of driving and to this day i still do and no matter what i drive if i can get it with a V8 or whatever is the biggest engine i always do .

If only these kids knew how many job opportunities and how much money you can make having a commercial drivers license…. Oh well, more jobs and less competition for me!😂😂😂

Teenagers shouldn't be driving anyways but you can't rely on mom and dad forever.

I got mine while working my first job at 15 and would leave work for a couple hours to get my learners and I took my test in a 5 speed with no power steering I don’t know whats wrong with my generation mommy and daddy aren’t going to drive you forever and if they do thats pretty sad

In the 80s I was just dieing to get my license. Man, how things have changed.
