I really like the supergates. They're the next logical step after space gates. It's funny, the ancients had a prototype wormhole drive in Atlantis, but the Ori went another direction and just made giant stargates that actually work and can safely transport entire ships between galaxies

Always enjoyed the concept of the super hate and wondered what happened to it after the Ori crusade was defeated. If SGC was able to replicate one in Pegasus, that would be a massive advantage against the Wraith.

I like your optimism about a new stargate show.

The idea of super gate is good allowing quick long range travel(instead of weeks of hyperspace travel) but the energy cost namely having to collapse a planet to create the connection between gates like we saw the ori do is something most would probably hesitate to replicate.

It would be cool to see a gate being used. That would be a sight to behold.

I always thought it would be cool if they used the super gate for pegasus galaxy and the wraith. That problem was unsolved. Maybe some joint endeavor with the ori . To make amends for all the damage. They still habe all that technology and the wraith wouldn't stand a chance technology wise

Huge Stargate fan. Glad the Supergates were added to the story arcs which helped create more interesting and challenging plot lines for the main characters, ie SG1 and Allies to battle new threats. Hopefully Star Gate will return which would be absolutely insane. Thanks for sharing as always. Stay safe and have a very Swell Intergalactic Day.👽👽🤘👍🤓🤓🛸🛸🚀🚀

Wow really good video! I thought that the Supergate was a really good demonstration of the awesome powerful tech of the Ori. Our exploitation of the weaknesses we found was demonstration of our cleverness to throw "sand" in the gears of the Ori's attempted conquest of our Galaxy.

when my people made the super gates it was really simple tech for us. we mostly used the gates to go to earth and get mcdonald’s Qp w/cheese meal w/ large fries and strawberry shake w/fried apple pie. y’all just wouldn’t believe how much we craved those things on our planet.

Enjoyed your video :) love all things stargate, even universe 🥲

It makes no sense that super gates would require black holes as power sources, considering the Ancients already had access to infinite energy supplied by the zero-point energy field of Dirac spacetime. The show writers just decided to use a black hole as a power source because it sounded scary.

i really wish SG-1 hadn't been cancelled. the potential of a Christian analogue as an enemy was immense especially with competing races of ancients. I'm not sure it could ever come back at this point. it's been too long.

great video stargate sg-1 was my introduction into scifi shows( subsequnetly watched and loved both atlantis and universe and really hope it gets the same kind of love of additional series like start trek has gotten ) and when the supergates showed up i was like no way thats awesome. and after finishing SGU after it aired got me thinking. ' could theoretically the parts of a not active super gate been send through a destiny style gate on a planet whilest destiny is in orbit of said planet and be activated to allow the destiny to return home? just curious on your thoughts

I freakin' love StarGate. All of the series as well as the film. ( I don't think Universe got/gets enough love). I am remaining hopeful on the prospect of a new series. (Also, apparently Joss Whedon may be attempting to get the Firefly reboot going). And Babylon 5. What a time. As a lover of Speculative-Fiction, the majority of the projects I am most excited for are all extensions of or re-imaginings of series past. And many of the biggest Sci-Fi and fantasy stories these days are all stories that originated back in the 1960's.

I was down with the Super Gates. I thought it a natural conclusion that eventually we'd see an advanced group of douchey aliens using one nefariously. If they do a new Stargate afterall, it would be cool to see one again. I'm open to it.
I hope they do a good job with any future series. Stargate done well, with writing that is original in many respects whilst managing to maintain the vibe and soul of the saga, and top of the line special effects, I am excited for the prospects. I think they might, go darker with a new series. That would be interesting.
