Our dog is a rescue dog. We got him when he was 4 months old and he is now 13 years old. However, we don't know his early history but he has always showed signs that it wasn't so good. Since I retired he has developed severe separation anxiety when I'm not in sight. He follows me everywhere (including the bathroom!) I can't see him changing now at his age so I don't leave him alone. No point creating anxiety in this cute, loyal, elderly little gentleman :)

My Australian Kelpie (Tessa who you can see in the picture) lies outside the door and waits most of the time but not all.
She knows when I am finished and gets up before I do.
Sometimes though on rare occasions she shuts right at my feet facing away from alert. I always thought she was guarding me & safe me feel proud. I think it when she is unsure of a noise or something going on in the street.
She also hates thunderstorms the rubber if course. She will paradox sit on my feet facing but mostly last down as close as she can.
She is actually 14 years old today being the 20/12/20.

My dog won’t follow me in, but will bark while I take a shower. She doesn’t like baths, so maybe she thinks I need to be protected when she hears the shower

Our dog, Patrick wanted to do this when we first got him from the animal shelter. But once he realize that all of us will take care of him he was OK. And now he’s to the point to where even if I’m the only one there. He will wait outside the door. Or play with his toys. Sometimes, even takes advantage of bathroom breaks now to sneak up on the kitchen counter. We’ve had to learn to hide the food because of that.qSo he’s come a long way.

Yes, all of my dogs have followed me into the bathroom. And when I shower, they walk in and out of the bathroom because I have to leave the door open because I am disabled and I can’t open the bathroom door with my walker because our bathroom is too small. So our fans run longer than needed and on timers. I know TMI. How ever, with smaller sized pups like pugs they can get to attached and that’s why other companions are needed for them.

Mine does but I put him outside and lock the door. He doesn't have anxiety issues so he waits or goes somewhere else until I'm out and follows me to my bedroom.

My dogs do this, but they will also let me go with some privacy. If I give them a choice though they'll be in there with me. Lol

I have a Cane Corso she always follows me to the bathroom, kitchen, living room every where.!

Yeaterday i got home from a 13 hour shift and didnt walk my 3 bastards ... they tag team pissed on my freshly washed bathtowels and comforter ... they really showed me 😂😅
