Using Big Words

The irony is that what to an English speaker are "big words" are regular words to a speaker of a Latin root language.

Funny how I now would have understood these big words, while I was equally lost as Gael the very first time I saw this scene 😂😂

Ok, I think they're talking about love. Barley's saying that there's a lack of compatibility with her lover and she should end her relationship with her lover who can't satisfy her. Then Robin said that dating changed her view on love, she's saying again that she's going to commit to the already mentioned lover and the beliefs he accepts. Gael thinks they're talking about baseball. But they're not. They're talking about love. Barney then said that this situation will chew him in the butt. And Ted said that he was overjoyed. As well as his former lover. I'm watching this out of context. So I don't fully get the whole situation. But I at least know they're talking about love. This is my best guess based on what I heard.

This kind of cut off Ted's I'm happy Robin's Should have played little more before they switch to big words..

Actually these words are easier to understand in Spanish.
Because are more similar to Spanish words and the english that we learn in the school is only with "big words"

This scene always bothered me for two reasons:

1. They end up choosing words like “masticate” and “jubilant” which is counterproductive because these words are very similar to their Spanish translations.
2. These sentences fly over the heads of most Americans anyway so it’s just an overall silly idea for a scene. Would’ve been funnier if they were using corporate speak metaphors to truly sell the alienation joke.
