I've probably said this before, but...

You guys are just too awesome.

I find Axel's tutorials easy to follow, and as I'm still in the crawling stage of HitFilm I am grateful to be able to duplicate an effect.

This is really good, most people that makes tutorials leaves out so much information but all this was great and very informative. Thank you

@6:36 - If you are watching this now (Dec 2019) and using the latest version of Hitfilm Express you can no longer just move the mask with the arrow tool. It will not keyframe the other points. In fact, it will remove your first keyframe and not add any others. You have to use the freehand mask tool, hold down shift and select all mask points then move the mask to the correct position in order to get the keyframes to work on the mask path.
@11:25 - Proxy > Make Proxy is now Pre-Render > Make Pre-Render(s).

Thank you allowing free use of this amazing application; great tutorials too! But it looks a bit complex for me. Wondering where I can find basic tutorial to get a hand on HF Express

Is there an XML import/export for Hitfilm or another way Davinci Resolve and Hitfilm could work Together?

the little square does not appear as I create the path, when I change one all of the key points change. so once I put the smoke out of the final frame it also disappears from the previous frames. what am I doing wrong? plz help

The path point is fine on the first frame but when I try and record a path 2 frames up with the mask in order to move the smoke half way,
it won't record a second path. So now I'm stuck and confused

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but the square points that show keyframe do not stick on a frame. If I select the path, it'll be there until I move to the next keyframe where it'll stay in the new one.

Whenever I try to move my mask for the muzzle smoke, it wont create a second key frame on my timeline. Whenever Axel moves his mask, it automatically places a grey square on the timeline, but it doesn't do that for me. Am I doing something wrong? Really enjoying the tutorial so far!
