They really need to bring back home economics classes to all of our schools. There was so much practical info taught. Montessori schools start in preschool. The most self-sufficient children I've met.

I was raised by a mother who knitted coats, sweaters with simply drawing them on a piece of paper. My grandmother and mother gave me a singer sewing machine at 10 years old…and I was taught how to knit, crochet, sew, darn, make curtains, even small rugs from old clothes, and Tate! A beautiful skill of making lace. I made my own dresses, slacks, suits and by the age of 16 was so good, would sew clothes for my friends. Today at 84, it is a wonderful skill that has saved me thousands of $$$…and I cannot imagine passing through life without these wonderful skills given to me by two women I loved and passed on such beautiful talents so missing from many women today who simply buy something and then throw it away. And alterations are the easiest but so difficult if one does not possess the knowledge. I am always showing neighbors, friends how to achieve these small tasks.

Moi, je coupe le dos élastiqué, au niveau de la fermeture par agrafes ( en coupant de part et d’autre des agrafes, de chaque côté.. Et en recousant ensuite de chaque côté ..).. Thank you. I'll see if i can apply this to any of my non-wired bras. It's all very well having big cups but they invariably come with bigger back (band) sizes too, so they're a pain in the bum (or t*ts) for those of us with a G/H cup but a 32 back.

Back in my 20s and 30s, maybe longer, I had to sew my bras to adjust them to a smaller size around me. I was a 32 D or 32 DD bra. The cups weren't the problem. It was the 32 around. They didn't seem to make it. I guess they thought that girls that were small frame couldn't have large breasts. They were wrong. The size I needed was impossible to find in stores. I'm glad they don't make it that difficult for women these days. I don't have to worry about this anymore because I had a breast reduction. I don't have to wear a bra anymore. Best money I ever spent.
