Tai Chi is about two parts of body helping each other. Yin and Yang. One is negative and one is positive. They combine to become balance. Ip man has wound on his left hand so master Wan shows his spirit to fight with iP man. But it breaks the balance of Tai Chi.

I thought it was a cool touch how the Tai Chi master was respectful and took his left hand out of combat to make it even and fair for Ip Man. Prior to this, his arm had been slammed in between an iron gate.

Good eye on the energy flowing. Tai Chi is all about big smooth flowy movements and Wing Chun has something similar with the Chi Sau technique. It's always interesting to see Tai Chi and Wing Chun

Something really awesome about chinese martial art is about the manner they mind during their high speed fight. Once he realise his opponent has some old wound in one of his hand, he continue the match but without the same hand his opponent has wounded. They knew to honor each other manner even in the middle of a fight, that's not common in western martial art because the level of control they have is not good enough for them to do such thing.

Did you guys know ip man movies were the last martial arts movies as of right now i think the only people that are almost the same level as ip man are Jet Li and bruce lee but those movies are really old jet li was the one that acted as a warrior monk in the movie shaolin temple
You guys should watch the bruce lee and jet li movies if you haven't they are really good if you like movies from the 70s and 80s

Ip man's fighting style is very different from the most varied styles of Win Chu. The style is based on three basic concepts: offense and defense and adaptation. later Ipman changed the style into a fourth concept: improvisation, where he inserted other styles and incorporated it into his own style just as Bruce Lee developed and created a fighting style.

if you were to mix Tai Chi and Akido together, that would be an exciting combo of martial arts

I really like how the Tai Chi philosophy of combat is incorporated to well in this scene. It looks like any other style, but there is that softness and elegance that makes taichiquan quite odd, in martial arts. They really did do their research, and more when they showed how similar Wing Chun and Tai Chi can be, considering they both are hard on defence with fewer aggressive moves compared to a style like Bajiquan
