I own a Silverado EV 4WT, as well as a Model X Plaid. All I can say is WoW! about the Chevy. I drive city and highway every day (30 miles), and my range estimate keeps going up after 2 months (500 miles).

The Chevy does everything I ask my diesel trucks to do! Americans don't know how good of a truck this is.

The market for a $100k, or even a $70k, pickup will never be very large.

They're too damn expensive, it's not that hard to figure out. Inflation is killing us

Public. Charging. I just watched a vid about this truck done by The FLT channel. They're in the mountains of Colorado. Their standard towing test is over the Continental Divide with an 11, 000 pound trailer. It goes from 5, 000 feet to 11, 000 feet in about 12 miles. The Ford Lightning got 90 miles range, the Rivian about the same, the Cybertruck got 120 miles and the Silverado beat them all with 140 miles range. Better, but still pretty bad for towing. Then they went to a public charger station.

The first one was full with a waiting line, the next one was almost full, several were out of service and the one available 350 KWH DC fast charger only put out 50-70 KWH with no reason why. AND they had to unhook the trailer because the charge port is in the back, no drive through chargers. Drive through gas stations with a trailer is no problem. It took 90 minutes to get 50 miles range to make it home. Not counting the time to disconnect and reconnect the trailer. THAT'S THE PROBLEM RIGHT NOW. Public charging infrastructure. These trucks in rural areas are loaded up with cargo and do a lot of towing. They're buying diesels or big block gas for about the same price.

I was very close to buying a Chevy work truck. I decided to wait for the cybertruck. The work truck doesn’t have the mid gate by the way. But the range and charging is fantastic.

People that drive trucks do not like change. Longevity is another issue. But I could not wait for the Denali EV. I owned a 2021 Tesla Model Y and a 2019 GMC Sierra Denali. Now with my 2024 GMC Denali EV1 I own both of both world in one Vehicle. Currently I love my Truck.

$12, 000 was off of the WT that included the $7500 federal rebate..

You might get a $1, 500 dealer discont on the RST. But no Federal rebate

Electric Viking you're great man, but I think it's too soon to say that this is the best vehicle GM has ever made. Best comes with time and this baby is just that, a baby. Love your videos man, ✌🏽.

I really like the WT. Price wise it is out of reach for the average working person. I'm hoping that as time goes by and production volume increases that the price will drop. I personally would be more interested in a small to midsize pickup like a Colorado EV.
Hopefully GM has plans to produce a small to midsize EV pickup.

I hope they send all the EV trucks to Australia. You enjoy

people are tired of over price trucks not saying it not a good truck

They will need to half that price to move pickup trucks .

I’m an old contractor, now retired. I’ve always owned small Toyota trucks which we bought used. Never spent more than $12k for a truck. Now I want to ditch my 2000 Tundra and buy something that is mid-size for the city, but also capable of towing our boat to the Puget Sound 200 miles North from our house in Portland, OR. There are so many new features on and add-ons in every new truck that I don’t want or need; jacked up suspension, huge wheels, navigation, a full back seat, fancy upholstery, fancy lights, 12 speaker sound system, touch screens, etc.
Why can’t anybody make a cheap work truck? I want a big battery, fast charging, full size bed low to the ground for carrying the dinghy, vinyl seats, 120ac outlets, in a mid-size, modest reliable vehicle.
$35k is fair for such a truck, and if sold at volume, would make money for the dealers and producers.

Because the ones you can buy now are over $100, 000. GMC are $99, 000

Knock on wood but I’m done with these giant vehicle loans. There’s nothing like owning a good, dependable car outright for less than a down payment on a new one.

… but if I decide to do it, this truck would be high on my list. I love it. I’m crossing my fingers it falls into the category of “great Chevy” like so many of my favorite cars.

C’mon Chevrolet! C’mon Ford! Hang in You can do it👊

There are tons of these for sale in my area. I don't see discounts from my local dealers. They are way more expensive than the Tesla Cybertruck at $98, 000 vs $80, 000 for the Cybertruck. They still can't charge on the Tesla network, so you can't take them on trips. There is no date for when they can charge on the Tesla network, so that's at least 6mo out. The Cybertruck is the only cool EV truck. The Silverado has better range than the Cybertruck, but that doesn't matter as there it can't use the Tesla supercharger network, so you really can't road trip it and that's the only time range matters.

Have you heard, there are parts on Washington that are offering unlimited night time charging for $10 per month?

They are just showing up in BC, Canada. About 40 province wide compared to about 400 lightnings. Dealers don't seem to know how to advertise properly, not stating basic specifications like range, towing capacity and battery size.
