Love this song. I know this songs meaning may not be about this but I was sexual abused by a family friend from ages 3-15 and I don't know why but this song makes me think about how he literally got me into a eating disordered because my body started developing and how he would just do manipulative shit and I love this song idk it makes me feel empowered and how I've grown so much from when I was a broken girl being abused

When I was a little girl, Tinkerbell and Peter Pan were my comfort movies. I was living in an abusive household and the idea of being able to fly away from it all was so appealing. I would stay up and stare at the stars, wishing on them for Peter Pan to fly me away.
And then, one unfortunate day, I was assaulted while watching Tinkerbell.
Even now, over a decade later, I can't watch the movies without feeling sick.
So... This song is oddly comforting to me. Idk why. Call it a trauma response or whatever. But I find the revenge on behalf of lost girlhood and innocence to be a comfort.
Amazing work on this one Jessie. This video and song perfectly encapsulates the feminine rage I think we all feel when we realize we were forced to grow up way too fast.
