Every video has so much in depth technique and movement analysis its mind blowing and feel like a steal to get this for free. You are a legend for the climbing community ! ❤

Yes! Would love to see more advanced and in depth content like this, so much climbing YouTube feels focused on entry level climbing techniques, or try to cover too much in one video ao that we don't get a proper in depth understanding, but you're doing it perfectly

what a time to be able to have one of the best all-around climbers giving advice on youtube, great video as always Dave!!

This one was very interesting to me. I’ve never shied away from foot swapping and always found it fairly intuitive, but for that reason I’ve never actually thought much about it at all, so seeing the technique laid out like this is making me excited to get to the gym to see if I can improve what I do naturally and make myself a more efficient climber.

Thanks for the video.

For someone like me, who has started climbing in his mid-thirties and doesn't have a network of better climbers aka coaches around him, your videos on climbing technique are a revelation, man. I haven't seen anything like it among all the tutorials etc. on Youtube.

Climbing is what keeps me going. So... thank you!

This is how Dave reached a really elite level by training his brain, fingers second.

Fantastic content as always. More of this type of video please !!!

Again been climbing for years and years but never consciously considered all these points.

Thanks, Dave. My foot-swapping til this point has always veered more towards the panicked hop. Will definitely run through a few more focused foot swap drills at the wall this week.

Tried this at the gym yesterday and wow!! I’ve always known I was bad at foot swaps but it was wild how casual they felt using these techniques. Even help me send a tricky problem with horrible sloper hands yesterday!!

In trad climbing, having to do a foot swap with your gear far away is one of those moments that instantly put you in the zone.
Thanks a lot for those technique videos Dave!

I've never thought even half as deeply about foot-swaps as this, and now I know I definitely have some learning (and practicing) to do! Thanks for the excellent video!

I've been using the flagging technique video at the forefront of my climbing since it was released and it's made a significant difference in my control on the rock. I couldn't overstate how valuable these videos are, please keep them coming!

I've just tried it today and the rolling technique works like a charm! Thanks for the clear explanation and everything!

By the way, I had ankle injuries that destroyed completely my dorsiflexion and I tried improving it for years but with almost no result. This year actually went to a physio that did ankle mobilization every week and I had an exstensive rehab plan to perform 5 days a week. My dorsiflexion is now into the normal range again!!! I know it might not sound amazing, but I really feel a big improvement and I'm now less prone to injuries from falls as well!

Been watching your stuff for years. One of the few instructors that really has a natural talent for teaching and climbing.

This is one of the clearest and most advanced technique videos I've ever seen.

Watched this video yesterday and tried it as a technique drill today. What an eye opener! All tips are super helpful, but the game changer for me is keeping the top of the toes of the incoming foot against the wall before and while it rolls down/in. I would never have thought of this. It gives so much control compared to dropping it straight down, which often makes me miss the best part of the hold. Thanks for these wonderful videos and also for your books, which have changed many aspects of my climbing over the last few months🙏🏻

As a beginner to climbing these videos really help me notice the minor/major flaws in my climbing. Really appriciate the effort!!!

aha!! The hip bounce was what I wasn't getting and why I couldn't quite grasp switching feet like that on overhanging terrain. Thanks for making it make sense!

Dave, you sir are a legend and when running into issues climbing here in the bow valley I quite often ask my self “what would Dave Mac do?” Thx for the hard work.

I've always been extremely comfortable with my footswaps and I still learned something! Wonderful explanation.
