Cont'd:

What this Bible DOES contain, however, is the excellent Revised Standard Version-Catholic Edition translation (still the very best modern English one out there, in my opinion) in large print, with the words of Christ in red type in the New Testament. It also has beautiful, color illustrations, charts, verse-finder pages, and short apologetics articles. All of this is wrapped up in a nice, leather binding, with ribbon markers.

Some confusion exists about this particular Bible...and this video does not clear it up.

This Bible was produced for Catholic Scripture Study International, an organization which produces wonderful Bible study curricula for Catholic Christians. It is NOT a "study Bible, " in that it contains the materials available in those Bible studies. It is to be used WITH them, or others. Catholics who are serious about Bible study need separate references--concordance, dictionary, etc.--anyhow.

Jesus's Church is already divided, sadly, and I wasn't around when it happened. Jesus is the only Person Who has the power to bring all Christians back together, again. We ALL need to pray for that, so GET BUSY!

Shall we pray for one another Acts 3.19-20. and petition for Galatians 5: 22-25 to illumine our lives; our lifestyle tuned to honouring GOD in thoughts words deeds.stewardship. Simplicity in lifestyle can help in staying on track in the straight and narrow road. Family life with Christ as the centre. Daily Sacred Time as vital. Baby steps needed. Let's try and make it. Pass it on to our young.

From the CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH:

1271 Baptism constitutes the foundation of communion among all Christians, including those who are not yet in full communion with the Catholic Church: "For men who believe in Christ and have been properly baptized are put in some, though imperfect, communion with the Catholic Church.

From most reviews i have read, my understanding tells me this bible is more of apologetics, not a study bible? however i do like this version.

What FURTHER "division" are you talking about, what "insult"? It would be great to read the Scriptures in their original languages, but most folks don't know them, nor do they have time to learn as well as make a living. A GOOD, modern English translation is very appropriate for 20th/21st century Christians, and the large print is good for many. The RSV-CE is regarded as the best translation in modern English by most orthodox Catholic Scripture scholars. So, what are you talking about?

Justified by faith in Baptism, [they] are incorporated into Christ; they therefore have a right to be called Christians, and with good reason are accepted as brothers by the children of the Catholic Church." "Baptism therefore constitutes the sacramental bond of unity existing among all who through it are reborn."

Let's check if the trinity's gone from the RSV. Gen. 1.1-3: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. And God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light." We have Elohim (the Father), we have the Spirit of God (the Holy Ghost), and we have the Word of God (the Son). Looks like the trinity is still here.

This particular Bible was produced for CATHOLIC Christians...but we'll let the others read it, too, if they want to! O;-)

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'
Matthew 7:23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Why do you use the term Catholic Christians?

angelamariapreuss
Автор

That's dumb and using the term seeks division and opens a big door for bigger division. There is not a person in the universe who knows the word Catholic and doesn't know we live with Christ. If you continue to use the tern you open the door for divisions and things things like, Catholic libertarian, totalitarian, mouse catching, fishing fools. You see you can put anything at the end. And we only need one word, Catholic. Please stop trying to divide the church. We are Catholic that is all!

So it's okay for you to create further division and dumb down the scripture's, insult the word of the Lord, because it was that way when you got here? The world was in bad shape when Jesus got here but he didn't say, "Oh well, status quo, I think I'll go die on the cross so they can make money off my and gather vain glory for themselves in the name of my Father." His mercy is infinite for sure and so is his judgement.
