It's not even knowing you've been sent spiraling to your death into deep space, without any help to come. It's the fact that you know you're going to die, slowly and alone, as well as knowing the wrong pod made it to earth and will potentially end all life there.

Brilliant ending, love the deviation from typical horror tropes. Not to mention the ost! Freaking powerful :D
