HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

Final Thoughts: The Arrowhead devs supposedly nerf weapons that are "overly used, " but that's not the case! I don't believe certain Stratagems or Weapons are being overly used; there are just no other good alternatives. When there is finally a weapon that is fun to use, they nerf it. I recall seeing a post from the CEO saying that the IE Breaker shotgun, for example, was used quite often on Terminid missions. However, even if that's the case, you should not use metrics to determine which weapons to nerf. Instead, you should ask and figure out why it is being used so often. It makes sense to me that the flamethrower would kill chargers. It's literally cooking them. The number of chargers on 7-10 difficulty requires a tool that is efficient at taking them down.

It baffles my mind that the devs limit ammo in an horder shooter, which is about fighting hordes. Sounds harsh but assault rifles with 30 rounds per clip are a joke on higher difficulties.

the bugs and bots get new enemy variants, get buffed, and get new weapons daily. Yet us helldivers get at best 1 stratagem a month and a hanful of nerfs smh

i still don't get what they mean by slugger spread. I thought it shoots slugs, a singular projectile, not pellets.

They still don’t fucking get it. Look at their phrasing in the post for the breaker. “Most powerful, too reliable, overshadowing other weapons.” This just proves that they balance based on statistics alone. The breaker is actually reliable and thus fun. Nobody is going to run the unfun dinky pea shooters like the smgs, the damn near useless ARs, or the scythe which does literally nothing. Also the incendiary HAS to be reliable for bugs because it blows against bots. Do they know this is a game with 3 fronts featuring different strengths and weaknesses?!? Fire (heh) the balance team for the love of god…

Do they want to make money? Fucking up fire right before the fire warbond is how you waste resources and piss off your fan base.

All they needed to do was make the flamethrower support weapon the only flamer to be able to get through tank front leg armor instead of nerfing it because of new flamers being released. The best part of this debacle are the people saying “stop whining” because not criticizing and shutting the hell up always improves everything.

grenade pistol was changed from 8 shots, restoring 1 from ammo boxes and 2 from resupplies
to 6 shots, restoring 2 from ammo boxes and 4 from resupplies
so you no longer need the whole resupply (and a bit more, or whole 9 ammo boxes) just for the grenade pistol alone

Clearly, the concept of "buff, don't nerf" has been lost on these devs. If one gun is standing out head and shoulders above the rest, take a look at why and bring the weaker stuff up to make them viable options. Why is that SO FUCKING HARD TO UNDERSTAND!!!!

All my friends slowly quit with every gun they used getting nerfed... I'm still here and I gotta watch the devs go after everything people use every patch without fail.

Arrowhead: we want strategems to be your trump card, not primaries.

Also arrowhead: lets destroy the flame thrower and make it worse then primaries.

In the trailer they've said "we have many surprises for you in store" it was just nerfing most useful guns and nothing new... i thought we are getting some new planets or a customization store to spend your items with.

I would love to fight on a planet where the bots and bugs are on the same planet. Would be cool to see them fight each other while we do missions and they attack us.
