Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory 'unlawful' says UN top court

The UN's top court said in a sweeping opinion on Friday that Israel's decades-long occupation of Palestinian territory was "illegal" and needed to end as soon as possible.
The advisory opinion by The Hague-based International Court of Justice was immediately slammed as a "decision of lies" by Israel, but welcomed by the Palestinian presidency which called it "historic".
The ICJ's statement, called an "advisory opinion", is not binding, but it comes amid mounting concern over the death toll and destruction in Israel's war on Gaza.

Nothing new, how long did you take to discover it and what has changed in the last 76 years?

Why it has been allowed to continue for so long, is beyond me.

One day, the family of an IDF soldier was gathered for his funeral. All that was left of him was a small box of his remains and the words passed over his grave. “I remember how handsome he looked in uniform, ” said his mother, “with his matching helmet and Pampers.” “I remember how brave he was, ” said his son, “he once neutralized a neonatal intensive care unit singlehandedly.” “I remember how loving he was, ” said his daughter, “he once demolished a school for me on my birthday.” “I remember how strong he was, ” said his wife, “every child he faced fell before his might.” “I remember him being bigger, ” said his father, “what happened to him?”. “Apparently, ” stated the mother, “he triggered a booby-trap while plundering a house in Gaza.” “Well, I guess he died as Israel lives” replied the father. “And how is that?” asked the others.

“By burglarizing someone else’s home.”
