I still think it's to soon for Tekken 8.
They need to keep Tekken 7 alive, so I rather have a Season 3, neither will be new characters, new modes or new whatever.

From a marketing perspective, unvailing Tekken 8 would be a disastrous move. Tekken 7 is a fantastic game. It can still be improved. I think they should wait till at least 2023 to announce a new game and focus on this one in the meantime.

T7 needs more stages.
They also need to optimize online loading times, especially in player lobbies. Rematching your friend takes forever despite you're only a few kilometers from eachother. Game rematching/loading should be almost as instant as offline mode if you're on a 4 or 5 bar connection.

Legacy character stages would be sweet. With the new TWT rules everyone should have their own stage they go too just like geese, Claudio, Akuma have etc. This and the Jukebox for PC would be <3

An options menu in Vs mode and online sessions where you can set gimmicks.

Turbo battle, ariel juggle, throw disable, limb disable, inverted controls, sidestep disable. There's literally loads of options they could add to spice it up.

Team battle (online and offline vs), time attack and survival mode with an online leaderboard for the latter.

Tutorial mode with a checklist of tasks to complete. This could also include an online leader board. Imagine having a mode where you have to avoid damage as long as possible and as soon as you take a hit its game over?

Me and my friend made up out own game in TT2 where we play on the same team against CPU and try and get eachother KO'd. I wish the game developers would think outside the box more because this brilliant game could be perfect.

Once I read on the Harada's interview, he told that creating a stage requires a lot of money and time etc.(Almost min 10 mil yen per each stage) Also they've changed game engine to Unreal engine. Because of this reason they wanted to move many stuff from previous Tekken to this engine before they make another sequel.

I absolutely agree. I've been playing since T3, and I have never this hype before. I think tekken 7 is one of the best in the tekken history, or at least, the one I have most fun in.

For tekken 8 there should be actually hard ai, frame data info in Movelist, game setups tips in training mode, cpu v cpu with skill options offline, player vs cpu offline, tekken force, team battle, better customization, actually hard treasure battle that takes effort that rewards good items and money that means something. Character model upgrade like graphics and hair, legacy characters, 2 rage drives no rage art unless hard command, new moves for characters, better online options and lobby practice mode, better stages with 2 or 3 of each wall, floor, infinite, balcony break, music options the same as seven to where u can pick which tekken game and heavier music, multiple and good intros/exits, meaningful Dialogue for related characters. Thats all i got feel free to add anyone

If they announce a new Tekken it will still take atleast 2 more years before it gets a home release, so a new Tekken announcement is very possible with an arcade release early next year.

More expansion in Tekken 7's Story? We've gone through the Mishima Saga "Chapter" so they're could be more/new chapters added to the game's story mode. They could add even more character episodes with more fights similar to Tekken 5 (especially for the DLC & Guest characters), maybe having alternate character episodes that interact with a different character in the roster like instead of Leo vs Yoshi it's Leo vs Kazuya (who still hasn't confronted Kazuya & G-corp about her mother's research).
