Learn about BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). This video explains the pathophysiology of BPPV and how it's treated by observing eye movements called nystagmus. To properly treat BPPV, a clinician MUST have a pair of infrared video goggles to observe these eye movements. Based upon positional testing and nystagmus analysis, the clinician will select the appropriate repositioning maneuver to treat the specific variant of BPPV.

It's not at all like being dizzy after spinning in circles. It feels like inception. Like the word is tilting and your body is telling you that you must crash against the wall now. But you are trying to hold yourself put with all your might.

Rolling over in bed feels like being tossed out of an airplane and you rumbling out of control. But even walking in a grocery store when other people are walking by you make you feel dizzy/nauseous. Driving when you have to look left and right for traffic etc. You don’t realize how much you move your head and how quick movements can lead to a fall or stumble if you’re not careful. Tip: If you’re suffering the after affects of bvvp that tend to run for a while even after treatment works. Amazon sells “motion sickness patches” that stick behind your ear. I promise you, you will thank me for this! They are a blessing!! Even my oldest son got a huge relief from using them after a severe concussion when nothing else worked. I couldn’t even go grocery shopping or drive without those patches! They last 2-3 days before needing to be changed.

I have had so many tests since i was 14, in 16 now and finding this, and i have gone under MRI’s, different brain scans for brain activity and brain cancer, nothing came back with anything, went to eye doctors, went to ENT, nothing, now going to propose this as something. I know it’s in my right ear.

Suffered with this for a year before I saw my ENT doc. Sent me to PT. One session. Gone! Wish I would have seen him sooner. Other doctors didn’t know what was going on with me.

What happens when the Epley doesn't work? I've had it done 4 times on each side, without goggles, and have been dizzy for two years. MRI clear. Constant spinning.
